๐๐ค 5 APPLE MYTHS PEOPLE STILL BELIEVE
The Apple world is full of advice... but not all of it is true ๐
Let's bust a few myths we hear all the time at Appel ๐
โ MYTH 1: Macs Don't Get Viruses
Sorry... they absolutely can.
While Macs are generally more secure than many Windows PCs, they're not immune to malware, phishing attacks, fake software downloads and security threats.
๐ Security still matters.
โ MYTH 2: More RAM Doesn't Matter
It absolutely does.
If you're editing photos, videos, running multiple apps or simply want your Mac to stay responsive for years to come, RAM can make a huge difference.
๐ The right amount of RAM today can extend the life of your Mac tomorrow.
โ MYTH 3: You Must Buy a New Mac When Updates Stop
Not necessarily.
Many older Macs can still be perfectly usable for years after official support ends.
In some cases they can be upgraded, optimised or even converted to Linux Mint to keep them running modern software.
๐ Don't assume unsupported means unusable.
โ MYTH 4: Apple Repairs Are Always Expensive
Not always.
Sometimes a battery replacement, SSD upgrade or software clean-up can solve the problem for a fraction of the cost of a replacement device.
๐ It's always worth getting a second opinion.
โ MYTH 5: Old Macs Are Useless
We hear this one all the time.
The reality? We regularly see older Macs running email, web browsing, Netflix, office applications and much more.
๐ Some older Macs still have plenty of life left in them.
๐ก The truth?
Before spending hundreds or even thousands on a replacement, let us take a look first.
We'll tell you honestly whether it's worth repairing, upgrading or replacing.
