This Dansette Monarch has had the "full works", being tastefully refinished in period colours of orange and white.
Fully electrically serviced and tested. Work completed with this player includes replacement deck motor, replacement idler wheel, capacitors checked to specification and replaced where necessary, replacement double insulated mains cable (compliant with all modern safety standards and correctly earthed with correct 3 amp fuse fitted), cartridge output checked and measured, new ST15 Stylus, new turntable mat. Also PAT tested.
This is a "One Off", unique and beautiful in appearance and looks just like it has left the Dansette factory today.
It has a BSR X5M cartridge fitted , giving full original output levels and is Stereo compatible.
A highly "Vintage/ Contemporary" player that would be a visual statement in any setting, with that "original vibe" that can't be replicated with modern machines.
This is not a cheap modern plastic foreign made Crosley repro player, this is a genuine 1967 vintage made in England Dansette Monarch. In fact, this was the last year of production for this model.
The turntable is a BSR UA15 deck. It plays any record, any size, any speed. About 6 records can be stacked & will be played automatically in turn one after the other or manually if preferred. The front chrome panel covers the two large internal 8" X 5" speakers, giving this model a much fuller sound than many others. In fact, this was the only player in the 1960's to have 2 speakers this large inside the case.
Four controls are mounted above. An On/Off switch, treble, bass & volume. It also has a mains indicator when the player is on.
This Dansette Monarch dates from 1967, they were manufactured from 1964 -67.
It is an Original British Made 1960's manufacture Dansette and this model is one of the rarer ones in comparison to the Bermuda. The Bermuda would have been a bedroom model and the Monarch would have been the living room party showpiece, with far superior sound and volume. These Monarchs can go loud for their size.
This was a mid 1960s upgrade on the old Conquest Auto from Dansette. It was very near the top of the entire Dansette range only the HiFi tops this one! Its fitted with a superior amplifier to many other Dansettes like the Major, Tempo etc plus it does not have one speaker like they do, but two, so it sounds a lot more detailed and higher quality!
For me, its one of the very best looking of all the models from the Dansette range. It just screams the period at you with its superb looks & captures the times to perfection!
Dansette made a wide range of record players they came in many colour schemes, many companies made record players but none had quite the style, classic look, and variety of colours that Dansettes had. They are now regarded as design icons & they truly sum up a golden age of music and are now highly collectable. For me, there is no better authentic way to hear those classic vinyl records or indeed any records on this authentic period piece.
This is a great chance to get one of the best Dansettes made, a superb looking & sounding Dansette Monarch. Its one of the lesser seen models today but its also one of the best.
A 60's classic & it represents the period to perfection. Definitely a Dansette not to be missed. With it's superb original looks and great authentic 1960s sound, it can go very loud too. It would make a fantastic talking point in any home.
