Thank you to Kate Rotheram at Distech Controls for the extending the invitation for Smarter Managed Buildings to attend the Connect26 London Conference event.

Both Darren Willis and myself thank you for the wonderful hospitality and great to develop our existing relationship, where we are early adopters of your Resense Move technology.

We are excited about our current project at Nottingham Trent University, where we are working in partnership with the university, to roll out extensive space utilisation management and energy saving solutions for their highly sort after lecture theatre spaces, using the Resense Move tech!

We are also in consultancy with Nottingham University Hospitals for a similar solution to further enhance the recent refurbishment investment of the fantastic new MNR and wider maternity facility.

Personally, I really enjoyed the synergies from the key note guest speaker, James Kerr, on my own outlook on leadership.

Loved the piece on ‘Extra Discretionary Work and Culture’, something I have had a passion about delivering and developing a culture to inspire this trait in my leadership.

I am fortunate in that our team at SMB all show attributes of ‘Hands up’, rather than ‘Hands out’. ☺️

A huge thank you to Smarter Managed Buildings for their generous £1,000 donation to support Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR. We’re especially grateful to Steve Barham and the team for choosing to back such an important piece of kit, helping contribute towards the portable landing lights that keep our Coventry base safe and productive when the airport lights are switched off.

It was also a pleasure to welcome them to our Coventry base last week — thank you for taking the time to visit, learn more about our work, and support the charity in such a meaningful way. We’re so grateful for your kindness and support 💛

Following our recent support to The Air Ambulance Service, the Smarter Managed Buildings Directors were honoured to be invited to visit the Coventry HQ base, to see how we are helping to keep the service flying high.

Following the passionate presentation from Jenny Standen, who is the Regional Business Development Manager for this critical service, she highlighted an urgent requirement of support to supply specialist night flight landing lights, to assure the continuation of flying lifesaving missions across our communities.

This is due to the upcoming closure of Coventry airport, where the service is currently based and the runway lighting is soon to be switched off.

In recent months, their helicopters have been on scene an average of 14 minutes after being tasked - bringing specialist equipment, expertise and medicines to patients for whom seconds count.

SMB are duly proud to help and support the continuation of the Air Ambulance Service’s vital role, based in Coventry and within our East Midlands regional community.

We hope our contribution helps light the way for the helicopters to keep flying!

At the recent East Midlands CIBSE Annual Charity Dinner event, Smarter Managed Buildings were honoured to support the chosen charity for the evening, The Air Ambulance Service.

Another project kick off site meeting for our latest Walton Hospital Community Diagnostic Centre Phase 2 project.

Following the recent opening of the £5.2M Community Diagnostic Centre at Walton Hospital, Chesterfield, an additional £7.5M has been granted to the Trust to enhance imaging facilities still further, just weeks after first opening its doors.

This additional investment from NHS England is being utilised to upgrade facilities for MRI and CT Scanning, bringing them into a new extension to the building rather than housed in mobile vans beside the diagnostic centre.

All looking good and ready to progress onto the site installation phase of the project for the Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust.
