A really important point. As sustainable packaging materials evolve, maintaining web cleanliness becomes even more critical to ensure quality, minimise waste and maximise production efficiency. Great article from Paper, Film & Foil Converter (PFFC)👍

As the packaging world transitions to mono-material films and fiber-based substrates with a greater proportion of recycled content, keeping webs consistently clear of contaminants is more important than ever.

While these emerging materials offer greatly enhanced sustainability credentials and are the foundation of realising the circular packaging revolution, these materials are more vulnerable to contamination than their predecessors.

This week we have been delighted to welcome Izzie Pereira to the Meech team as she completes her work experience placement. Izzie has spent time with both the Marketing and Procurement departments, doing a variety of tasks which have given her an understanding of how these departments work and the important roles that they play.

It has been wonderful to see Izzie’s enthusiasm to learn and grow as well as her curiosity to explore possible future career paths.

We are proud to have played a part in Izzie’s journey and we wish her the very best as she continues to progress and explore the next steps in her future.

Yesterday, on International Women in Engineering Day, we celebrated the talented women across Meech who help drive innovation everyday.

This year's Inwed1919 theme, "Engineering Intelligence", celebrates the innovation and curiosity driving engineering forward. We asked colleagues from Meech and A.S., our distributor in Turkey, what they enjoy most about engineering and what advice they would give to the next generation of women engineers.

Their responses share a common message: engineering is about curiosity, confidence, continuous learning and turning ideas into reality.

At Meech, recognising the contributions of women in engineering isn't limited to one day. Through our Engineered to Perfection series, we have been proud to showcase the people behind our innovation throughout the year.

Join our team at Meech International Ltd. We are recruiting a Design Engineer to work within our successful Engineering team. This role will be based in Witney, Oxfordshire.

The right candidate must have:

- An engineering degree involving mechanical, electrical or product design.
- Relevant work experience is preferable.
- Research and development engineering experience preferable.
- Experience of 3D CAD software, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
- Experience of working with Product Development.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and experience of product testing.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Good project management, organisation and communication skills.
- A flexible and cooperative approach.
- Able to work autonomously with concise reporting when required.
- Reliable, innovative and collaborative.

The role's main objectives are to work within the Meech Engineering team on existing and new R&D projects and to increase the capability of the Engineering department to compress development timescales.

A couple of weeks ago we attended the Careers Morning at The Henry Box School, an inspiring event helping students at every stage of their journey👏

It was fantastic to see all the different activities taking place, from exploring future careers, to developing employability skills and chatting with industry professionals.

We are passionate about being part of our community and helping out the next generation and it was fantastic to be able to share insights into our industry and encouraging the students to think about all the possibilities ahead.

Thank you to The Henry Box School for having us and to our employees who gave up their time to make this such a valuable experience for the students.

We made it all the way to the final! Unfortunately, we lost out to a goal in the last second of the game (literally!) but we couldn't be prouder of how the team came together in support of the British Heart Foundation and what we achieved:
