How well do you know your drug development process?

Comprehensive process understanding and successful process development go hand- in-hand. However, relying on legacy tools and non-digital practices results in fragmented process knowledge and inefficient and complex development cycles, both of which can increase manufacturing risks in your BioPharma lifecycle.

Polar Control helps maintain consistency throughout the entire process – from setting parameters to extracting valuable insights from results – allowing you to fast-track development timelines.

Every tech transfer carries a hidden risk: your data.

Product and process knowledge builds up across R&D, clinical and commercial manufacturing. But too often a "digital data gap" opens up after candidate selection, when teams still rely on spreadsheets and paper records. That gap slows commercialization, adds cost and puts data integrity at risk.

So how do you get tech transfer right?

Enter IDBS PIMS. A cloud-native, 21 CFR Part 11 compliant platform purpose-built for life science manufacturing and sponsor to CDMO/CMO collaboration. PIMS gives you a single source of truth for product and process specifications, batch data and performance, from R&D through clinical and commercial phases of biopharma lifecycle management.

The result: faster scale-up, seamless collaboration across internal and external teams and full audit-ready traceability at every stage.

Novavax saw the difference first-hand:"We needed to move fast on our COVID-19 vaccine, replace Excel data management and accelerate CMO data sharing. PIMS was the perfect product."

Which scientific lab data platform supplier boasts the highest level of customer satisfaction?

The most important health challenges of our time cannot be solved with a one-size-fits-all solution. They demand collaboration, creativity and trust.

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do at IDBS. Working side-by-side with customers, we co-design tailored solutions that turn scientific potential into progress.

Rory Quinn, Lead Platform Product Manager at IDBS, explains that ‘Customers talk, we listen’ is an ethos embedded company-wide to ensure that customer needs are addressed at every stage of development and implementation. That’s why a recent market research survey has revealed that IDBS platforms have the highest level of customer satisfaction, with 77% of users expressing they are very satisfied (compared with 53% across all scientific lab data platforms).*

Most lab data problems are not data problems. They are trust problems.

In fast-paced R&D, data becomes fragmented. Experiments disconnect from processes. Results lose their audit trail. And somewhere between the bench and the boardroom, confidence in the science quietly erodes.

We have spent over 35 years building alongside biopharma scientists who know this challenge intimately.

When we built IDBS Polar, we did not start with features. We started with a question.

What does a lab actually need to move from planning to insight, and trust every step of the way?

The answer: a powerful, enterprise lab informatics platform that unifies ELN, LES and LIMS capabilities, delivering end-to-end data management to drive scientific innovation, going beyond traditional lab software to offer a flexible, scalable and GxP-compliant solution designed to support the lab of the future. Whether operating in regulated or non-regulated environments, the platform keeps data connected, complete and audit-ready, supporting your requirements as they evolve.

This is what tested and trusted looks like in practice. Here is what our customers actually report:
→ 80% faster reporting*
→ 75% saved QA time*
→ 60% less time spent on compliance activities*
→ 50% faster study cycle times*

Scientific work follows a cycle; from planning experiments to executing them, collecting data and analyzing results, and then using the scientific outcome to inform and drive the next round of work. This cycle, known as the Lab Loop, represents the continuous, iterative nature of modern R&D. The Polar platform supports every stage of this loop, helping scientists streamline workflows, integrate data and generate insights that accelerate innovation.

Connecting data, workflows, and insights was a key theme at the final SCIEX Discovery Continuum Seminar of 2026.

Scientific organizations generate enormous volumes of data, yet disconnected systems, manual integration efforts, and data silos often limit the ability to turn that data into actionable insights. At the event, Shendi Lu, Principal Solutions Consultant, shared how IDBS Polar helps create a connected data backbone through instrument and system integrations, contextualized FAIR data, and a foundation for advanced analytics and AI.

Thank you to SCIEX for hosting a great event and to everyone who stopped by the IDBS booth to connect with Conor Ward and Shendi Lu and discuss strategies for accelerating time to insight from scientific data. For more information on how IDBS can help connect your scientific data ecosystem, reach out to Conor Ward.

In 2025, 88% of organizations reported using in at least one function, yet fewer than 40% achieved measurable financial impact.*

AI is already widespread in adoption across but scaling it into real, enterprise-wide impact remains a challenge. The barrier isn’t the models. It’s the data.

Building a context-first data strategy which captures structure, semantics and provenance at the point of creation can help you deliver AI that is explainable, compliant and scalable in regulated environments such as pharma, accelerating development timelines.

How does context-first data support AI adoption?
🔹Minimizes downstream cleaning and supports validation and data integrity in GxP settings
🔹Helps AI systems and auditors understand the meaning of the data and its proper context of use
🔹Reduces bias and supports reproducibility, verification and inspection-ready wet-lab validation
🔹Enables explainability and appropriate-use safeguards during scale-up.

BioIVT collaborates with IDBS to reduce study cycle times by 30%*

Deployment of a new IDBS platform has streamlined and standardized BioIVT’s processes and increased efficiency in operations, allowing the company to reduce study cycle times by 30% and achieve a more than 20% increase in capacity (equivalent to a weekly time saving of ~8 hours per user).*

In ADME research, efficiency is not a ‘nice to have’ – it’s essential. BioIVT, a leading global research partner and biospecimen solutions provider for drug and diagnostic development, needed a technological solution to improve efficiency and increase capacity, ensuring best-in-class responsiveness to its clients.

BioIVT identified its key technical requirements:
🔹Data processing and reporting tool capabilities to reduce data and report delivery time
🔹Flexible, user-friendly and easy to configure to promote user adoption and increase capacity
🔹Allow for collaboration between all teams to accelerate experimental time and data delivery
🔹Validated to meet 21 CFR Part 11 regulations.

IDBS worked closely with BioIVT to co-design a tailored solution to address each requirement and shorten development timelines without compromising quality or compliance.

Each department at BioIVT is now utilizing the new IDBS solution across various workflows:
🔹Lab services: Registers samples and creates sequence lists for sample analysis
🔹Analytical services: Imports sample sequence lists into LC-MS/MS instruments, executes and documents sample analysis, and exports raw data
🔹Data management: Imports raw sample data into IDBS platform for data processing
🔹Study director: Performs final reviews and approval of processed data then generates a summary report that is delivered to the client.

AI is generating powerful hypotheses in biopharma. But too many stall at the bench.

In our new blog, Anirban Mudi introduces the governed middle — the operational layer that connects dry lab AI to governed wet lab ex*****on and traceable evidence.

The takeaway is simple. If AI outputs sit outside your governed record, you carry regulatory risk. ALCOA+ and FDA draft guidance raise the bar on integrity, lineage and audit readiness. Shadow AI and ungoverned tools only widen that gap.

Closing the lab loop changes this. Hypothesis → ex*****on → evidence → refinement. With IDBS Polar, biopharma teams carry context from design to the bench and capture end-to-end evidence — helping you move from idea to impact faster, across sites and programs.
