Stoford bridge is finally fixed!
Stoford is a busy cut-through village and the bridge being closed for building works was a real inconvenience for lots of people.
It’s now open again, and our car park is right next to it. Feel free to drop in or call with any queries!

Here is the inside of a traditional hard drive (HDD) which use moving parts, and a solid state hard drive (SSD) which don't!

It makes you appreciate the physical difference and see why putting an SSD inside of an older or slower computer can immediately speed it up.

You can speed up even an old laptop, by replacing your traditional hard drive with an SSD hard drive. What does this mean if you aren't tech-savvy? You can replace a part in most old laptops (and desktops) that will speed it up greatly.

This video shows a quick test to compare HDD and SSD performing three basic tasks.
Both laptops are identical and under the same conditions except for the hard drive installed.
This is a long video! If you want to skip to the facts, see below.

Test one - Time taken to power on and get to the desktop.
SSD 00:19:26 (19 seconds)
HDD 00:44:21 (44 seconds)

Test two - Install / configure the same windows update.
SSD 06:48:18 (6 minutes)
HDD 12:23:09 (12 minutes)

Test three - Copying the same large file (7.5gb) from one area of the hard drive to another.
SSD 00:37:06 (37 seconds)
HDD 05:03:12 (Over 5 minutes)

Bear in mind this test is favourable to the traditional slow hard drive. It's got a fresh install of windows so it will be as fast as it will ever be. The true difference when replacing this part in an old computer which has data stored on it is greater.
