Another really nice Home Cinema by Avolution!

This one was quite involved installation-wise, as it required building a new suspended ceiling to accommodate the 24m2 fibre optic Starceiling ( which looks awesome !) and edge lit pelmet.

The back & edge lit movie posters give the room an authentic cinema feel.

Avolution handled the entire project, apart from the wall coverings which were provided by Simon Lovell interiors & Oak construction.

Screen Research 143” acoustically transparent screen
Lutron lighting control

Bespoke floating storage cabinet.

Something a bit different in this new build apartment:

This client wanted a really good quality Home Cinema but didn't want to allocate a dedicated room for it; so we came up with this solution which allows the room to be used as a living room most of the time.

Then at the press of a button, the projection screen drops, the blackout blinds close, the lights dim, the Starceiling twinkles, the projector starts ... and the living room becomes a proper Home Cinema!

Off-The-Scale Home Cinema!

Without doubt, one of the best Home Cinemas I've had the privilege to be involved with, this one has it all; including:

Sony VPL-VW870ES 4K laser projector. ' it looks like an OLED TV screen' said Andrew the photographer - and he was not wrong. Super-sharp and bright - incredible picture quality.

Screen Research variable masking projection screen. 94" diagonal when in 16:9 'TV' mode and a substantial 2.8m wide when in 2.40:1 widescreen format. As per all the best cinemas, this screen is acoustically transparent with the front speakers mounted directly behind the screen.

7.1.4 surround sound system. Featuring Artcoustic SL 8-4 front left, right & centre speakers with Target Mini rears & surrounds and a Control One Subwoofer. Amina Mobius 5 invisible plaster-in speakers were used for the overhead front & rears.
All powered by a Denon AVCX6700 the sound this system kicks out is really something else..

Starscape fibre-optic ceiling. Not only looks great when it's twinkling in the darkness but is practical too as the felt material really helps with room acoustics.

RTI T4X remote control system tying it all together (including the lighting) for a system that's extremely easy to use.

Not in any way AV related but I would like to mention that the Legendary Ady Sarchet is about to tackle the final swim in the Oceans Seven Marathon Swimming Challenge!

Ady is scheduled to swim the Cook Strait – the 16 miles from the North Island to the South Island in New Zealand – weather permitting between 1 and 6 March 2020.

The Cook Strait is renowned for its chilly waters, its strong (and sometimes unpredictable) currents, its jelly-fish and its relatively common shark sightings.

If successful, Ady will join the 20 elite swimmers who, as at the date of posting, have conquered the Oceans Seven.

Ady is swimming to raise money for Guernsey Disability Swimming LBG (“GDS”) (Guernsey Charity Number CH496) in support of the Beau Sejour Leisure Centre’s “Poolpod Appeal”.
