How did you find the last creator you worked with?

Most of us in Ghana still do it the same way:
Scroll Instagram or TikTok → look at follower count → send a WhatsApp message asking for “analytics” → negotiate a price → hope their audience actually matches our customers.

It works sometimes. A lot of the time it doesn’t.

I’m trying to understand if this is just “how things are” or if brands and creators actually feel the pain of guessing every time.

How do Ghanaian businesses actually find creators to work with?

Is it mostly:

→ Searching Instagram or TikTok
→ Asking friends for recommendations
→ Looking at follower counts
→ Requesting analytics screenshots on WhatsApp
→ Comparing prices and hoping the audience is right

We’re researching this because finding a creator can sometimes feel more complicated than it should be.

A creator with 20,000 followers might be a better fit for a particular business than someone with 200,000 — depending on the audience, content, location and actual performance.

Quick question for Ghana business owners and marketers:

How did you actually find the last creator you worked with?

Was it someone you already knew? Someone a friend recommended? Or did you just scroll Instagram/TikTok until the follower number looked "big enough"?

A lot of us are guessing on audience fit and rates because there's no simple way to compare creators beyond the public number on the profile.
