The launch of the National Identity Register (Amendment) Regulations, 2026 (L.I. 2523), led by the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, marks a significant step in Ghana’s efforts to combat identity fraud, protect personal data, and strengthen trust in identity verification.

Margins ID Group and our subsidiary, Identity Management Systems II (IMS II), were honoured to be part of this important engagement. As the technical partner to the National identification Authority (NIA), Ghana on the Ghana Card project, we remain committed to supporting secure, technology-driven identity solutions that help preserve the integrity of Ghana’s national identity system.

A successful digital identity system isn’t defined by technology alone, it is strengthened by the people behind it.
 
Following the successful inauguration of The Gambia’s National Identity Management System (NIMS), Margins ID Group conducted a capacity-building training for officials and technical teams who will support the implementation and day-to-day operation of the programme.
 
The sessions combined practical demonstrations, technical knowledge, and operational guidance to equip participants with the skills needed to manage the system effectively and deliver trusted identity services to citizens.
 
At Margins ID Group, we believe that successful digital transformation goes beyond technology. It is about empowering people, transferring knowledge, and building local capacity to ensure long-term success.
Together with the Government of The Gambia, we are laying the foundation for a secure, inclusive, and sustainable digital identity ecosystem.

We are honoured to support a process that reminds every Ghanaian abroad that they remain an important part of our nation. No matter the distance, every citizen deserves to be recognised, included, and connected through a trusted identity.

This is more than registration. It is about belonging. It is about ensuring that Ghanaians everywhere have a place within the identity ecosystem of their country.
 
The registration exercise is still ongoing in Spain. Ghanaians in Spain are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and register.
