The Opportunity
We are currently an Account Officer (AO) to join our dedicated and hardworking team who will contribute to overall success of our company by supporting the growth and expansion of the business in the West African Region. The successful candidate will need to have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task with good understanding of accounting principles, experience in journal entry and a team player. A passionate accounting professional with a thoughtful judgment and an entrepreneurial approach to problem solving and decision making who can thrive in a multi-facet and fast moving digital and technology industry. Responsibilities includes but not limited to
Receiving and recording cash and cheques
Using bookkeeping tools, spreadsheets, and software such as QuickBooks
Producing a variety of reports including income statements and balance sheets
Checking for accuracy in reports, figures, and postings
Managing transactions for cash and cheques with banks
Interacting with management, customers, and vendors
Managing accounts payable and receivable.
Maintain records of business costs.
Reconcile accounts with the general ledger.
Handle general account queries.
Contact clients about invoices that are past due.
Process refunds for clients.
Conduct assessments using internal/external data and support the identification of opportunities for improvement.
Liaise with other teams to maintain budgets and optimize departmental expenses.
Education/Experience/Skill Requirements
Diploma or University Degree in Accounting or a relevant subject area.
Minimum 2 years of experience in bookkeeping
Excellent understanding of budgeting and journal entry
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels.
