Major Shareholders Propose To Remove Zuckerberg From Facebook’s Chairman Position

2018 is certainly one of the worst years for Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. After successive data breaches leading Zuckerberg to testify in front of Congress, now several shareholders are pushing to dethrone him from his position as Chairman of the board.

On Wednesday, state treasurers of Rhode Island, Illinois, and Pennsylvania raised signed a proposal issued by Trillium Asset Management in June. The proposal suggests that Mark Zuckerberg should be removed as the Chairman for mishandling several high profile scandals.

Major shareholders will vote the proposal in the Facebook’s annual shareholder meeting scheduled for May 2019. The proposal demands shareholders to appoint an independent chairman.

New York City Comptroller’s official statement read:

“Facebook plays an outsized role in our society and our economy. They have a social and financial responsibility to be transparent – that’s why we’re demanding independence and accountability in the company’s boardroom.

We need Facebook’s insular boardroom to make a serious commitment to addressing real risks – reputational, regulatory, and the risk to our democracy – that impact the company, its shareowners, and ultimately the hard-earned pensions of thousands of New York City workers. An independent board chair is essential to moving Facebook forward from this mess, and to reestablish trust with Americans and investors alike.”

This is not the first time that plans are in motion to disrupt Mark Zuckerberg’s position. In April, a similar attempt was made, but Zuckerberg holds 60 percent voting rights. Therefore, the plan was unsuccessful. However, this time, involvement of shareholders in the plan could be a turning point. Several major shareholders like The New York City Pension Funds that own 4.5 million Facebook shares, The Pennsylvania Treasury holds 38,737 shares, Trillium is the owner of 53,000 shares, are backing the proposal.

Facebook has not yet issued any official statement regarding the proposal.

🛡How to remove and avoid computer viruses ? 🛡

A computer virus is malicious software (also known as “malware”) that can copy itself and infect other software or files on your computer.

If you suspect your computer has been infected, then several antivirus websites provides step-by-step instructions for removing viruses and other malware.

Fortunately, if you update your computer and use free antivirus software such as AVG, you can help permanently remove unwanted software and prevent installation in the first place.

How do I know if my computer has been infected? After you open and run an infected program or attachment on your computer, you might not realize that you’ve introduced a virus until you notice something isn’t quite right. Here are a few indicators that your computer might be infected:

►Your computer runs more slowly than normal.

►Your computer stops responding or freezes often.

►Your computer crashes and restarts every few minutes.

►Your computer restarts on its own and then fails to run normally.

►Applications on your computer don’t work correctly.

►Disks or disk drives are inaccessible.

►You can’t print correctly.

►You see unusual error messages.

►You see distorted menus and dialog boxes.

These are common signs of infection—but they might also indicate hardware or software problems that have nothing to do with a virus. Unless you run some kind of Malicious Software Removal Tool and install industry-standard, up-to-date antivirus software on your computer, there is no way to be certain if your computer is infected with a virus or not. Beware of messages warning you that you’ve sent email that contained a virus. This can indicate that the virus has listed your email address as the sender of tainted email. This does not necessarily mean you have a virus. Some viruses have the ability to forge email addresses. In addition, there is a category of malware called rogue security software that works by causing fake virus alerts to pop up on your computer.

How do I install updates and antivirus software if I can’t use my computer? It might be difficult to download tools or update your computer if your computer has a virus. In this case, you can try one of the following options:

►Use another computer to download the tools to a disk.

►Get help through your Antivirus’s website support.

►Have your system checked by a Technician

How can I prevent infection by computer viruses?

Nothing can guarantee the security of your computer, but there’s a lot you can do to help lower the chances that you’ll get a virus.

It’s crucial to keep your antivirus software current with the latest updates (usually called definition files) that help the tool identify and remove the latest threats. You can continue to improve your computer’s security and decrease the possibility of infection by using a firewall, keeping your computer up to date, maintaining a current antivirus software subscription, and following a few best practices.

Tip: Because no security method is guaranteed, it’s important to back up critical files on a regular basis.

Repair corrupted Pen Drive or SD card using CMD

This process involves Windows command prompt which is commonly known as CMD. In this, you have to enter some CMD commands and Windows will forcefully format your corrupted pen drive/SD card.

Connect the corrupted pen drive or SD card to your computer.
However your mouse on the Start button and Right.
Click Command Prompt (Admin). A CMD window will open. Type diskpart and press Enter.
Type list disk and press Enter. A list of all the storage devices connected to your computer will be displayed.
Type select disk and press Enter. (Example: select disk 1).
Important: Make sure you enter the number correctly. Otherwise, you may format your internal hard drive. You can type list disk again to check whether you are going correctly. There will be a star (asterisk symbol) before the name of the selected disk.Type clean and press Enter.
Type create partition primary and hit Enter.
Type active.
Type select partition1.
Type format fs=fat32 and press Enter. The format process will finish in a few minutes. You can write ntfs instead of fat32 if you want to carry files larger than 4 gigabytes. Don’t close the CMD

How to make your PC boot faster

Start with the BIOS

The BIOS is the best place to start when you’re looking to decrease PC boot times. A lot of companies will configure the BIOS making it easier to add additional drives, boot from CDs, or enable WiFi or Bluetooth. When you’re getting your computer setup for the first time, many of these deault settings are reasonable. But once you’ve got things working as you like, you can return to the BIOS and disable those that don’t apply to your configuration.

Here are a few tweaks I recommend:

-Move your boot drive to the First Boot Device position.
-Disable boot devices not in use. For example, if you don’t need to boot to a CD, disable that option.
-Disable Quick Boot will bypass many system tests. Not as important today as it once was.
-Disable hardware you aren’t using such as Firewire ports, PS/2 mouse port, e-SATA, unused onboard NICs, etc.Update to latest BIOS.

Any changes you make to the BIOS will need to be saved and your computer will need to be rebooted. If you decide you need to boot from media or enable a device, you can always go back into the BIOS and make those changes.
