It was a pleasure to welcome H.E. Paweł Czerwiński, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Croatia, and Mrs Agnieszka Czerwińska to Protostar Labs.

We presented our work in space and dual-use technologies and discussed Poland’s experience in developing its space sector, strengthening Croatia’s space ecosystem, and expanding cooperation between Croatian and Polish companies.

The conversation also covered the Three Seas Hybrid Constellation, a regional Earth observation initiative in which Poland is playing a leading role. Protostar Labs recently signed a Letter of Intent for the project at the Three Seas Initiative Business Forum in Dubrovnik.

Thank you for the open and pleasant discussion. We look forward to developing concrete opportunities for Croatian-Polish cooperation.

Hvala Poslovni.hr na isticanju važne teme: prilike Hrvatske da pozicionira svemirske i tehnologije dvojne namjene kao važan dio svoje industrijske budućnosti.

U Protostar Labsu vjerujemo da se svemirski sektor ne bi trebao promatrati kao niša. On je izravno povezan s obranom, sigurnošću, digitalnom transformacijom, kriznim upravljanjem, naprednom elektronikom i tehnološkom suverenošću.

Hrvatska već ima znanje, tvrtke i inženjerski talent potreban za razvoj visokovrijednih svemirskih i obrambenih tehnologija. Sljedeći korak je dati ovom sektoru strateški fokus koji zaslužuje, kroz snažniju podršku visokotehnološkoj proizvodnji, bolje usklađivanje s ESA programima i jasan put prema punopravnom članstvu u ESA-i.

Kao tvrtka koja razvija sustave za obradu podataka na satelitima, kamere i optičke payload-e za svemirske primjene, ponosni smo što možemo doprinijeti ovoj raspravi i širem razvoju hrvatske visokotehnološke industrije.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻.

On 29 April 2026, during the Three Seas Summit and Business Forum in Dubrovnik, we signed a Letter of Intent launching an initiative to develop a hybrid satellite constellation in Central and Eastern Europe. 🛰

The goal is to establish a regional satellite data-sharing system and interoperable ground infrastructure—enhancing Earth observation, strengthening security and resilience, supporting crisis management, and improving monitoring of environmental and infrastructure changes.

By enabling satellites operated by individual countries to perform imaging tasks for partner states, the initiative significantly increases data availability. The next phase will focus on integrating ground infrastructure and mutual backup capabilities.

At Protostar Labs, we contribute with our expertise in onboard data processing and optical payloads, enabling faster and more efficient use of satellite data directly in orbit.

The ceremonial signing was attended by high-level government officials: Ivan Anušić, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and Minister of Defence; Harry Theoharis, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic; Marcin Przydacz, Secretary of State and Head of the International Policy Office in the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland; and Rastislav Chovanec, State Secretary of the Slovak Republic.

Their presence highlights strong support for a project of strategic importance for strengthening the region’s resilience.

The initiative brings together space sector organizations from Croatia (represented by Protostar Labs), Poland (Creotech Instruments S.A., CloudFerro S.A., Eycore), Czechia (VZLU AEROSPACE, Groundcom, Czech Space Alliance), Greece (Hellenic Association of Space Industry - HASI, GEOSYSTEMS HELLAS S.A.), Slovakia (SAB CTRL Space, Touch4IT), and Slovenia (SPACE-SI - Slovenian Centre of Excellence for Space Sciences and Technologies), reflecting a shared ambition to build stronger, interconnected space capabilities across the region.

Protostar Labs attended the 𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗦 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 in Valletta, Malta, organised by the ESA - European Space Agency and Xjenza Malta.

Our CEO, Filip Novoselnik, presented Protostar Labs and introduced our work in 𝗼𝗻𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀, 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀, and 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 for space applications.

Together with Miroslav Rožić and Miron Dulj, our team also took part in B2B meetings with organisations across the European space sector.

The Light Pollution Characterization Module (LPCM) hardware is now ready for testing.

This marks another important step forward as we move closer to bringing the system to orbit as part of a project supported by the ESA - European Space Agency.

The project is led by FER Zagreb, and we’re proud to contribute to the development of a system aimed at improving how light pollution is measured and understood from space.
