Behind every organisation doing meaningful work, there's a mountain of admin nobody sees.

For Udruga Srce Zelina, that meant hours spent on records, documentation, and everyday processes. Hours that could have gone to supporting children with developmental difficulties and people with disabilities instead.

This year, as part of Span's skill-based volunteering program, our colleagues stepped in to understand those challenges firsthand. A few months of close collaboration later, a Microsoft Model-Driven application integrated with SharePoint brought their data, documentation, and key processes into one place.
The real win wasn't the tool itself. It was building something the association will actually use, every day, to spend less time on admin and more time on what matters.

When the project wrapped, we received a handmade card from the association's members, part of a tradition they keep for donors, partners, and friends. It's hanging in our office now, and every time we walk past it, it's a reminder of why we do projects like this.

Most clothes don't get a second life. They end up in landfill or are incinerated, even though choosing a different outcome takes just a few minutes.

Together with Humana Nova, a social enterprise that employs people with disabilities and other socially excluded groups, we've made textile recycling part of everyday office life. Through collection containers placed in the buildings where our offices are located, colleagues can easily give clothes they no longer wear a second life.

In 2025, we collected 1,670 kg of textiles. Just six months into 2026, we've already surpassed that number, reaching 1,680 kg. 🙌

Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far. Every donation helps keep textiles in use for longer, reduces unnecessary waste, and contributes to a more sustainable future for our communities. ♻️
