Soley means sun in Haitian Creole and refers to the abundant sunshine that will supply the center with energy. SOLEY will be a public space for improving computer literacy and providing internet access in the community of Ansapit, a fishing village in the southeastern corner of Haiti. It’s closest neighbour is the bordering town of Pedernales in the Dominican Republic. SOLEY will also offer print,
scan and copy services, host computer and Internet workshops as well as film-screenings. SOLEY will act as an accelerator to fund future projects for the community of Ansapit. We are the ones behind SOLEY project:
Heather from Malmö, Sweden and Eddy from Ansapit, Haiti. We met back in 2010, as volunteers in a permaculture project in Ansapit. And have since then married and moved to Sweden, become parents and have future plans of living part time in Haiti. We feel that Ansapit has so much potential but it needs investment and determined people to stimulate the local economy. Support and donate --> INDIEGOGO LINK!
