True testimony

*The Humiliation That Tried To Define Me*

My severe eye sickness started in *2022.*

Not last year. 2022. I have lived with this for years.

It began with itching, then constant tearing, then swelling and redness that refused to leave. Some mornings my eyes were sealed shut. Light hurt. Reading hurt. My eyes would water all day as if I was crying, even when I was not.

But I did not let sickness write my final story.

In *2025, even with my eyes still struggling*, I stepped out in faith and opened my restaurant. I ran it for *one full year, from 2025 to 2026.* One year of waking up early, cooking, serving, smiling — even on days my vision was blurry. I did it afraid. I did it with tears. But I did it.

Then I had to close it.

*Not because of my eyes. I closed due to financial problems.* Money became tight. Costs became high. And as a young business, it could not survive.

But people love to create their own stories. Some thought I closed because I failed. Some thought it was because of my eyes. That is where the humiliation came in — when people define your obedience by your outcome.

To have fought eye sickness since 2022, then to build a business for one year and then close it for financial reasons — it felt like double shame. Like I had fought so hard for nothing.

I would walk in town and people would ask, "Naomi, your restaurant?" And I had to answer, "I closed it." My voice would shake. Not because I was ashamed of working hard, but because I did not want to be known as the girl whose business did not last.

But God is healing me.

*Day by day, by the grace of God, my eyes are healing.* Not all at once. Day by day. I can see a little clearer than yesterday. The tearing is reducing. The light does not hurt as much as before. It is grace, slow grace, but it is grace.

And today I understand:

My business did not close because I am a failure. It closed because it was a one-year classroom. God allowed me to run it for one year to teach me management, courage, people, resilience. The financial problem that closed it did not close me.

And my eyes did not stay sick to punish me. They stayed sick to teach me to see differently. And now, day by day, God is healing them, because He wants the world to see His mercy on my face.

So no, this is not a story of humiliation.

This is a story of a woman who:

- Has been sick since 2022 and is still standing.
- Ran a business for one year (2025-2026) with sick eyes and still served people with joy.
- Closed due to financial problems, not because she gave up.
- And is healing — day by day — by the grace of God.

*The humiliation tried to define me as "the sick girl whose business failed."*

*But grace is redefining me as "the healed girl whose obedience opened her calling."*

If you are reading this and you closed something due to finances, and people misunderstood you — hear me. You did not fail. You learned.

And if you are sick and healing slowly, day by day — that is still healing. Give God thanks for daily grace.

Your one-year business was not a waste. It was a witness.

And your healing eyes will be the first thing that testifies that God restores
