Probably the best sweet shop in the world - and drawn mostly from memory. It was always such a treat stopping off to buy a cone there on the way home from town. O’Keeffe’s shop had such a huge selection of sweets and was affectionately named “Nosey Keefe’s” as the owner was always keeping a close eye on people. The shop stood next to Lee Cabs and the Cork 800 fountain, which was regularly topped up with a sq**rt of washing up liquid for the craic.

How many of these places do you remember?

Paper caps in Mandy’s. A few sweets from Cudmores. The terrifying blue slide in Adventureland. Getting photos developed in the Roman House. Taking a dive into the Lee baths.

I could go on… but instead, I made this print. A celebration of the little places that shaped our lives, the ones that never really left us.

Our beloved Goldie Fish has watched over the city for many generations. He looks pretty lonely up there, so I drew this whimsical sketch imagining a future where he meets some new friends.
