Where did your business idea come from?
Callan Computers was originally setup in 1983 by John Callan who saw a requirement for IT Equipment & Services in the Business and Education sectors.
In 2003 the company was sold to 4 directors who developed the business to be one of the largest ICT Solutions and Services Providers in the North East. We have and continue to deliver numerous services from all our competency areas across the following sectors:
• Public Sector
• Healthcare
• Financial
• Local Government
• Manufacturing
• Professional Services
What do you think has been your biggest achievement with the business?
Our biggest achievement has been the growth and retention of our customer base for nearly 40 years. A professional and proactive service-led approach with unwavering commitment to our customers has allowed us to build sustainable, long term relationships.
Investing in expertise and experience ensures we can implement and integrate technologies seamlessly, providing peace of mind and a proven return on investment. Our solutions are innovative, our reactions are responsive, our staff are trusted, and we are permanently customer focused.
Today our Helpdesk takes over 1,500 calls per month, with 75% of all calls resolved remotely.
What’s next for Callan Computers for business’s in Drogheda?
We will continue to develop our product range with premium partnerships that enhance the services we excel at delivering. Our Focus is to enable our customers to maximise the value that technology can bring by empowering their management and staff to embrace change and develop effective skills for the benefit of their business.
Supporting local suppliers and employing staff from the community develops a trust with Drogheda business people, this has continued since the company’s inception in 1983.

• We provide remote and on-site consultancy on several Financial, ERP and Payroll applications including bespoke development for specialised areas not covered with standard systems.
• We outsource IT Consultants to companies that do not have in-house support personnel.
• We support customers in almost every county in Ireland.
