We've loved working with National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) on their brand refresh, which they launched today.

NYCI, the representative body for voluntary youth organisations in Ireland, represents over 50 member organisations that work with over 380,000 young people each year, using its collective experience to act on issues that impact young people. It's s a growing organisation with an increasing number of programmes, projects and initiatives; therefore, it needed a new identity that could communicate to diverse audiences, from Government and decision-makers to young people.

The logotype places emphasis on the word 'Youth'. It features a playful bespoke letter y (the 'jaunty y') that gives it vibrancy and dynamism. It is anchored on either side by solid letterforms that allude to NYCI's role as the leading representative body for voluntary youth organisations. The logotype strives to achieve the best balance of welcoming and approachable, with gravitas and authority.

We created an energetic and flexible brand system to accompany it that can be dialled up or dialled down for relevant audiences. An integral part of the new identity is the suite of illustrations that celebrate the diversity of NYCI's members and the young people they support.

So that's just about that for 2021. We’re almost done for the year but before we head off, we want to thank all our clients, collaborators and suppliers for all their support during the year – we couldn’t have done it without you. It sounds like a cliche, but if something is true, it isn’t a cliche so, from all of us here on Ely Place, we send our thanks and hope you all have a very Happy Christmas.

See you in twenty-two.

With a new year in sight, and many of us wondering what the future has in store, we thought we'd share a recent project for FuturEnergy Ireland. We named the organisation, created its identity and designed & built its website, which you can see at https://reddog.ie/project/futurenergy-ireland

FuturEnergy Ireland is a new joint venture from Coillte and ESB, that will make a significant contribution to Ireland's renewable energy targets by harvesting our wind and land resources to accelerate the transformation to a sustainable future. With Ireland facing a several challenges to meet its 2030 climate targets, we're proud to have worked on a project that offers real solutions.

It was lovely to meet Ali, Ben and China from The Together Academy, who delivered two fantastic Christmas hampers to the studio this week. We'll be giving the hampers away on our Instagram page next week so check in there from Monday to see how you can win (find us at ).

The Together Academy is our 2021 charity partner, and we're proud to support them this year. Visit https://togetheracademy.ie/2021/11/together-at-christmas-hamper/ to see more about their hampers and learn about the opportunities the Together Academy provides to adults with Down syndrome.

We had a lovely evening yesterday at the Institute of Designers in Ireland (IDI) 2021 Awards prize-giving ceremony in the Jameson Distillery last night. Well done again to Alessandra Ravidà and Susan Carberry who were there to collect their Awards for Concern Worldwide's Annual Report and Rethink Ireland's Impact Report. More on that here: https://reddog.ie/news/an-eye-and-an-eye

Well done again to all this year's winners and let's hope we'll all be able to gather in greater numbers for next year's ceremony.

Having spent the last few days unpacking and finding homes for everything, it's really starting to come together in our new studioon Ely Place. There's a handful of the gang in today and we're looking forward to welcoming all the Red Dogs back over the coming days.

We'll miss the old place, but we think we'll be very happy here in Dublin 2 - drop by if you're in the neighbourhood.

We're still a little bit all over the place as we find homes for everything in our new studio – but it's all coming together, and we're really looking forward to getting the gang back under the same roof next week.

Hard to believe 18 months have passed since we all packed up our belongings last March and headed for home. Can't wait to see everyone in real life again!

After 16 wonderful years in Blackpitts, we’re packing our bags and moving to a new home very soon. Where are we going? That's a secret! But all will be revealed soon and we can't wait to show you around the new studio.

Exciting times!

We're delighted to welcome Emily McKeagney, a third-year vis comm student from Offaly who'll be with us for the next few weeks, gaining a little experience of remote and actual studio life at Red Dog before returning to TU Dublin in the Autumn.

We've been fortunate over the years to meet some fantastic interns right at the start of their design career, and we're delighted that Emily is giving up her Summer to hang out with us before heading into her final year at TU Dublin.

Welcome to Red Dog, Emily!
