Thinking about building an app for your business?

Before you jump into development… ask yourself this:

Do you actually need a mobile app? 🤔

For many Irish businesses, a modern web app can deliver the same results faster and at a lower cost.

We explain everything in our latest blog 👇

AI is moving fast in Ireland right now - but so is regulation, compliance, and the pressure on businesses to adapt properly.

With Ireland preparing for full EU AI Act implementation and the launch of a new AI Office of Ireland, businesses are entering a completely new era of digital transformation.

At Elephantfly, we’ve been watching this shift closely.

The conversation is no longer just: “Should businesses use AI?”

It’s now: “How do businesses use AI responsibly, securely, and in ways that actually create value?”

The companies that move early - while focusing on transparency, automation, security, and real-world usability - are going to have a major advantage over the next few years.

Ireland is positioning itself as a serious AI and digital innovation hub, and it’s exciting to see where things are heading.

More businesses are starting to realise that AI isn’t replacing good businesses - it’s helping strong businesses scale faster.

Most businesses adopt AI tools expecting results straight away.

They rarely arrive - and the reason is usually not the tool itself.

Accenture's latest survey found that 54% of employees reported low-quality or misleading AI outputs were actively reducing productivity. A third of senior leaders acknowledged that progress depends on getting core data strategy right first.

This is not a technology problem. It is a sequencing problem.

The businesses seeing real returns from AI are the ones that started with a specific, well-defined problem, cleaned their data, and built in a clear way to measure whether the tool is actually helping.

That sequence matters. Skipping it is one of the fastest ways to waste budget on something that looks impressive in a demo but delivers little in practice.

If you are considering AI tools - or already using them - the first question is not "which tool should we pick." It is "what does our data actually look like right now."

If you are not sure of the answer, that is worth exploring. We help Irish businesses work through that question at Elephantfly.

In late December 2025, a Russian hacking group called Sandworm attacked over 30 wind and solar farms across Poland. Poland called it the largest cyber attack on its power grid to date.

How did they get in? In many cases, through default usernames and passwords that had never been changed.

A separate study across more than 100 energy systems worldwide found the same pattern: basic security gaps that have been known about for years, still sitting wide open.

This is not a story about nation-state warfare being irrelevant to Irish business. It is a story about how attacks on critical infrastructure spread outward — through supply chains, shared networks and interconnected systems.

For any Irish business that runs industrial controls, relies on utility providers or has operational technology on site, two questions are worth asking this week.

When did you last audit default credentials across your systems? When did you last review who has access to what — and why?

Those are not glamorous questions. But they are the ones that matter right now.

A security review is something we support at Elephantfly. Feel free to get in touch if you would like to discuss where to start.

An AI agent is not a chatbot. It is a system that takes action on your behalf — across multiple steps — without you in the loop every time.

Insurance companies are already using this for claims processing. The question for Irish SMEs is not whether this matters, but which of your processes could benefit. The ones that start testing now will have a meaningful head start.

Drop a comment if you want to know where to begin.

There is a lot of noise around "agentic AI" right now. Most of it is aimed at developers or enterprise IT teams. So here is what it actually means in plain terms.

An AI agent is not a chatbot. It is a system that takes action on your behalf — across multiple steps, without you having to be involved at every stage.

Think of a common process: someone submits an enquiry, you check availability, you send a confirmation, you log it in your CRM. An AI agent can handle that entire chain — from the first message through to the final log entry — without a human in the loop for every step.

Insurance companies are already doing this with claims processing. Alibaba's AI assistant completes transactions end-to-end.

The question for an Irish SME is not whether this matters. It is which of your processes could benefit — and whether you are ready to start a small pilot.

The businesses working that out now will have a meaningful head start over the next two years.

If you are curious where to begin, feel free to reach out. We are happy to talk it through at Elephantfly.

WordPress just cut development time by 80% with their new AI agent skill.

Not for enterprise. For anyone building a website.

The pattern is clear across platforms: AI agents are shifting from experimental features to integrated workflow tools. Anthropic added agentic plugins to Cowork. Chrome built AI directly into the browser. Manufacturing firms are hitting 457% ROI using AI for predictive operations.

What's changed?

Before: "We need to hire a specialist before we can do this."

Now: "We can deploy AI assistance without expanding headcount."

For Irish SMEs, the advantage goes to businesses asking the right question: What repetitive work could AI handle so our people focus on client value?

Three questions worth asking this week:

1. What tasks do your team complain take too much time?
2. Which of those are repetitive rather than creative?
3. What would your business look like if those tasks took 20% of current time?

The technology exists. The ROI case is proven.

Are you adapting while it's still a competitive advantage, or waiting until it's a competitive requirement?

This is something we help clients with at Elephantfly.
