🚨 Beware of Email Scams! 🚨

Just a quick reminder about the importance of staying alert when it comes to email scams. In today's digital age, scammers are getting sneakier by the day, and it's crucial to know how to spot and avoid their traps. Here are three common examples to watch out for:

1️⃣ Phishing Emails: These deceptive emails often mimic legitimate companies or organizations, aiming to trick you into revealing sensitive information like passwords or credit card numbers. For example, you might receive an email claiming to be from your bank, asking you to verify your account details by clicking on a link. Remember, your bank will never ask for this information via email.

2️⃣ Fake Prize Giveaways: Have you ever received an email notifying you that you've won a fabulous prize or lottery? Be cautious! Scammers often use these tactics to lure victims into providing personal information or sending money upfront to claim their supposed winnings. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

3️⃣ Tech Support Scams: Beware of emails or pop-up messages claiming to be from tech support teams, especially if they warn you about viruses or security threats on your device. These scammers may try to convince you to install malicious software or provide remote access to your computer, putting your sensitive data at risk.

Stay sharp, folks! Here are a few tips to help you stay safe:

The KEPAK SHEARFEST 2024 welcomes the All Ireland & All Nations Sheep Shearing & Woolhandling Championships to Mountbellew, Co. Galway. The event will take place on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd over the June bank holiday weekend.

You probably don't recognise the name Susan Kare, pictured here in the 80's and the present day. Yet you look at her work every time you sit in front of a PC, laptop, tablet or phone...

Best known for her interface elements and typeface contributions to the first Apple Macintosh from 1983 to 1986. She was Creative Director at NeXT, the company formed by Steve Jobs after he left Apple in 1985. She was a design consultant for Microsoft, IBM, Sony Pictures, and Facebook, Pinterest and she is now an employee of Niantic Labs.

As an early pioneer of pixel art and of the graphical computer interface, she has been celebrated as one of the most significant technologists of the modern world.

Everyone raves about Johnny Ives work at Apple, and yes, some of his design work is iconic. But his ethos of design over everything else such as usability and self imposed technical limitations for the sake of form contrast greatly with Susan's.

Susan Kare is considered a pioneer of pixel art, computer design and of the graphical user interface, having spent three decades of her career "at the apex of human-machine interaction"

Here at Timfy Designs, we realise that during the COVID-19 crisis, people are more reliant on their technology than ever before.

As a result we will be staying open for business, however certain precautions will be put in place...

⚠️Visitors to our premises must contact us first by telephone to arrange an appointment. 087 142 2452. Sorry, no exceptions.
⚠️Equipment brought in for repair will be thoroughly disinfected both on receipt and return.
⚠️Please don't be insulted if we ask you to remain at a distance of 2m at all times or if we ask you to use hand sanitiser.
⚠️Sorry, no tea and biscuits!

✅Free help for local elderly people who do not have internet access and need to avail of an online service
✅Free help for local people who do not have internet access and need to access the Social Welfare system

✅Remote access issues for those working from home
✅Access issues with online education systems
✅Setup of online stores allowing businesses to carry on offering their goods and services throughout the crisis.

West Coast United FC are collecting any old or unwanted mobile phones and tablets in a drive for some extra funding.

Timfy Designs office in Leenane is happy to be one of the collection points, and you can drop in your old phone at any time.

Do contact us if you have any questions, but in a nutshell if it's a phone or tablet and you no longer need it, no matter its age, we have a use for it!

Collection ends on 9th February.
