Dublin gets new ‘airport’ courtesy of iPhone’s new map software - via thejournal.ie

With Google Maps gone, the latest version of Apple’s iOS has designated Airfield Park in Dublin as an airport on its new mapping software.

Recently we have noticed on the Vodafone network that users with an iPhone can't connect to VoIP services while using 3G, but can while using WiFi. This affects not only us but all VoIP providers in Ireland.

The reason is that your smart phone connects to the internet using one of several APNs provided by Vodafone, their 'live' APN appears to be blocking ports. You need to have your phone connect to their 'hs' APN. In Android phones this can be done from within the settings on the phone, but for iPhones you need Vodafone to send you a configuration file which will change it for you. You can contact Vodafone from your mobile on 1740.
