Take note all this is effective now on Facebook 😲

➡️ Notice: Facebook will no longer allow customization of the image, title or description of a link preview effective today, July 17th at 11:59pm PST. This is part of Facebook's effort to reduce misrepresentation of content, a.k.a. fake news, etc.
😮 However, according to Hootsuite's notice today, this change is only for links posted to personal profiles and groups. And, "Pages will not be affected by this change until a later date." [UPDATE: This change *does* affect Pages, too. As of midnight PST tonight.] 🤔 Hm!

The changes to link previews apply to all third party API integration tools, as well. 🦉 See Hootsuite's notice here:

🔹Excerpt from the Facebook Developers Blog: "We're working to find other solutions that allow publishers to share customized content on our platform, and we will have more to share in the coming weeks. As we make these changes, content creators maintain the ability to control how their links appear on Facebook using Open Graph meta tags." (That is, as the publisher of your own website/blog content, you can control the image, title and description using the OG tags.)
