A packed room at our meetup in London this week…and one clear theme - GenAI is transformative but not in a straight line.

It unlocks creative new ways to solve hard problems but it digs up engineering challenges we thought were behind us.

Luke Phillips-Sheard from broke down how sandboxes and file systems are becoming critical to managing agent memory — whether for code review or broader agentic workflows.

Jack Foxabbott showed us something else entirely: using LLMs to evolve CUDA kernels and optimise the very hardware AI runs on. GPU optimisation isn’t a new problem. AI is just forcing us to solve it again, faster.
