🚨 The first AI-run ransomware attack has been reported. 🚨

This wasn’t a completely autonomous attack. A human still selected the target and provided the access needed to begin the operation.

But what changed? 😳

The AI agent carried out much of the technical work, moving through the environment, adapting when challenges appeared, and executing the ransomware attack chain.

This marks a shift in how we think about cyber threats.
As attackers start using AI to automate more of their operations, organisations need to rethink how they detect, prevent and respond to attacks.

Automated tools scan thousands of systems looking for exposed services, outdated software, and known vulnerabilities.

Your business may not have been the target they were looking for, but an overlooked weakness could make you the opportunity they discover.

Zero-day vulnerabilities leave organisations with little or no time to respond before an exploit becomes available. They receive a lot of attention for that reason.

Known vulnerabilities are different. In many cases, security updates or patches are already available.
