Casually trusting your own intentions may not come easily for some OC people. It can be helpful to reframe and acknowledge an obsessive thought compared to a more helpful (but not unrealistic) alternative.

We don’t alway have to trust our intentions, but actively believing that it’s ok to do so may be the first step in retraining the brain to access more helpful thinking.
