Bad UX rarely announces itself as a design problem.
It shows up as “poor-quality traffic,” low activation, weak retention, negative reviews, rising support requests, and users quietly switching to a competitor.
From a marketing perspective, that is what makes bad UX especially expensive. A business can spend heavily to attract the right users, only to lose them because the product is slow, confusing, unreliable, or difficult to complete basic tasks in.
Before users leave, they usually try to make the experience work.
They refresh the page.
Reopen the app.
Check their internet.
Tap the same button repeatedly.
Contact support.
Give the product another chance.
When none of that works, the frustration becomes fallout: uninstalls, poor reviews, negative word of mouth, and lost trust.
Acquisition may bring users in, but the product experience determines whether they stay.
At TheFinch Design, we design and improve digital products so users can complete important actions without unnecessary confusion, friction, or doubt.
Is bad UX quietly undoing the work your marketing and product teams are doing? Let’s talk. https://thefinch.design/contact-us/
