At a panel discussion on Bharat-led Innovation, moderated by Ashutosh Kumar, Deputy Editor and Delhi Bureau Chief at Fortune India, Ankush Sabharwal joined Devyani Gupta to discuss how AI and language technologies can drive meaningful digital inclusion across India.

When asked whether digital inclusion represents a major opportunity for AI innovators, Ankush shifted the conversation from opportunity to impact.

Solving for Bharat requires more than advanced technology, it requires understanding the lives, realities, and challenges of the people technology is meant to serve.

AI should not be force-fitted simply because the technology exists. Innovation must begin by identifying genuine, real-world challenges and then thoughtfully using technology to solve problems that were once considered difficult or impossible.

Meaningful innovation starts with understanding people first and technology second.
