"Our team of experienced physicians" does not book patients.

Dr Kavitha, who does not agree with the standard IVF protocol for women over 38 and switched her clinic's approach 4 years ago — books patients.

The most expensive line on your hospital website:

"Contact us to learn more."

It is not a call to action. It is a placeholder someone filled in 5 years ago.

At the moment of highest intent, it asks for the vaguest possible thing.

Replace it. Test for 30 days. Watch the booking rate.

Your hospital blog traffic is climbing. Your booking rate is flat.

After 18 years writing healthcare content, I can tell you this is almost never a traffic problem.

It is almost always these 3 things 👇

1️⃣ Your first 100 words are written for the search engine, not the patient.

2️⃣ You never name a specific doctor. Nobody books with "our team of experienced physicians."

3️⃣ Your CTA says "Contact us" — a placeholder someone filled in 5 years ago.

Each fix takes 15 minutes per post. Each one can move your booking rate this month.

Save this for your Monday content review. Send me a DM if you want a second pair of eyes on your top 3 posts — that is what my free 20-min blog audit is.

Most health-tech founders write their blog the way SaaS founders write theirs.

That is the first mistake. Health-tech is not SaaS.

After 4 years writing specifically for pre-Series A health-tech startups, here are the 5 content mistakes that quietly kill credibility with doctors, hospital admins, and the investors who validate by talking to those doctors.

→ Writing like a SaaS startup (doctors pattern-match "naive founder")
→ Hero claims without surgical specifics ("AI-powered" tells a doctor nothing)
→ No content for the "is this real or vaporware" stage
→ Founder bios that read like LinkedIn About sections
→ Pricing pages that hide

The pattern across all 5: writing for other founders instead of skeptical doctors.

Other founders read your blog and think it is boring.
Doctors read it and think: "these people might actually be able to do this."

The boring blog is the one that gets Series A.

Save this if you are a pre-Series A health-tech founder.

Most hospital websites have 40-80 doctor bios. Each one reads like a CV.

That is the single most expensive mistake in hospital marketing.

The "Find a Doctor" page is where patients decide whether to book. The most valuable real estate on your site. And it reads like a list of degrees nobody asked for.

3 questions every doctor bio should answer in the first 100 words:

→ "Will this person actually listen to me?" (credentials cannot answer — stories can)
→ "What is this doctor specifically known for?" (skip 'senior consultant' — get specific)
→ "One outcome the doctor is genuinely proud of" (the section nobody writes)

A Pune hospital rewrote 12 bios this way. Result:

✅ Time on page: 18 seconds → 1 min 47 sec
✅ Direct bookings from bio pages: 4/month → 31/month
✅ 68% conversion to paid appointments (vs 42% from general inquiries)

The mistake to avoid: do not let doctors write their own bios. They revert to credentials. You (marketing) write it. They approve.

Save this if you run hospital marketing.

Every IVF clinic leads with success stories.

That is the wrong starting place.

Your future patient is not googling "best IVF clinic in Mumbai." She is googling "is irregular cycle normal at 35" at 2am, alone, before she has told her partner.

She lands on Reddit. On Quora. On WebMD. Never on your clinic.

The IVF patient journey has 3 stages. Most clinics only write for stage 3.

→ Stage 1: "Is something wrong with me?" (2am, symptom-googling)
→ Stage 2: "What if it does not work?" (mid-cycle, dark space)
→ Stage 3: "How do I decide?" (comparing clinics)

A Bengaluru clinic published 3 pieces — one per stage — over 6 months.

Result:
✅ 3.2x organic inquiries
✅ Cost per organic lead: ₹2,400 → effectively ₹0
✅ 20% conversion vs 11% from Google Ads

Save this if you run marketing for an IVF or fertility clinic.

Hospital websites are losing patients to AI content farms 👇

After 18 years writing for healthcare brands, here is what is working for the hospitals still ranking after Google's 2026 helpful content update.

The AI farms produce volume. They cannot produce trust.

3 things only human writing can do:

→ Write patients' actual 3am phrases (AI has never seen them)
→ Document your hospital's operational truths (AI cannot crawl what is not public)
→ Write the 2am voice (AI writes for the query, humans write for the moment)

One community hospital wrote ONE piece in a recovered patient's voice. 47 inquiries in 90 days. That is the unscalable moat.

Save this if you run marketing for a hospital, clinic, or healthcare brand.
