Employees play a crucial role in running a successful business. An untrained and negligent workforce can put your enterprise in danger of multiple data breaches. Therefore, organizations must adopt a viable security training program that should encompass the essential guidelines needed to thwart imminent cyber-incidents.

Your organization should also set monthly training meetings, provide frequent reminders, train all new personnel on new policies as they arrive, make training material available and implement creative incentives to reward employees for being proactive in ensuring the security of the organization.

How to reset your Mac before selling it

How do I clear my Mac so I can sell it? You just have to reformat your hard drive and reinstall a clean version of the operating system.

Reformatting Mac
It is that time again. Time to decide whether to keep or replace your Mac laptop or desktop computer. If you are reading this article, chances are you've already come to the decision to replace your Mac with the iMac Pro (or maybe you just got a new Mac as a present!), and you're thinking about selling your old model.

The first thing you should do before hitting the streets to sell your old Mac is clear it of any and all personal data. You don't want to accidentally sell your computer to a stranger when you are still logged into iCloud.

Step 1: Back up your Mac
Step 2: Sign out of everything
Step 3: Reformat your hard drive
Reinstall a clean Mac operating system
If you're selling a MacBook Pro with Touch Bar

Step 1: Back up your Mac
If you already have your new Mac on hand, you can transfer all of your data from your old Mac or use an older Time Machine backup. If you don't have your new Mac yet, well ... then you probably shouldn't be selling your old one yet. But, if you really don't think you'll need your old computer before getting your new one, just make sure to back up your data so that nothing happens to it before you get what you need onto your new Mac.

Step 2: Sign out of everything
The software you have on your Mac is licensed to you, which means it doesn't get transferred to the new owner of your computer (except the operating system). In order to avoid complications with the new owner attempting to download and install software that is licensed by you, make sure to sign out of everything your personal information is connected to.

How to sign out of iTunes
Open iTunes on your Mac.
Click Account in the Menu bar on the left side of your screen.
Click on Sign Out.

Hold down Command and R at the same time right after you restart your Mac. Keep holding down the keys until your Mac finishes loading and you see the macOS Utilities window.

Note:
Make sure your Mac is connected to the internet in order to verify the software. You'll be asked to do so during the installation process.

Hold down Command and Q after the installation is complete. Do not follow the setup instructions. Leave that part for the new owner. 8 Click Shut Down to shut down your Mac.

Your Mac is now clean and ready for a new owner. They will complete the setup instructions to get started using the Mac, as well as download the latest macOS operating system that is available and supported on their Mac.

If you're selling a MacBook Pro with Touch Bar
If you follow the steps above, the information stored in the Touch Bar of your MacBook Pro will be securely erased. However, if you've decided to use a third-party program or used Target Disk mode to erase your Mac, you should follow these additional steps to ensure that your Touch Bar data is also erased.

How to Break Password in MAC

Change or reset the password of a macOS user account
You can change the password that you use to log in to your Mac, or reset the password if you don't remember it.

The password of your macOS user account is also known as your login password. It's the password that you use to log in to your Mac and make certain changes, such as installing software.
Change your password

If you know your password and can use it to log in to your account, you can change your password in Users & Groups preferences:
Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu, then click Users & Groups.
Select your user name from the list of users.
Click the Change Password button, then follow the onscreen instructions. If you're using a password hint, remember to update the hint for your new password.

Reset your password

If you don't remember your password, or it isn't working, you might be able to reset it using one of the methods described below. But first try these simpler solutions:
Make sure that you're typing the correct uppercase or lowercase characters. If your keyboard has Caps Lock turned on, the password field shows a Caps Lock symbol Upward-pointing arrow.
If the password field shows a question mark, click it to display a password hint that might help you to remember.
Try to log in without a password. If that works, you can then add a password by following the steps to change your password.
Try to log in with the Apple ID password that you use for iCloud. If you just changed that password and the new password isn't working, try the old password first. If that works, you should be able to use the new password from then on.
Reset using your Apple ID
In some macOS versions, you can use your Apple ID to reset your login password. At the login screen, keep entering a password until you see a message saying that you can reset your password using Apple ID. If you don't see the message after three attempts, your account isn't set up to allow resetting with Apple ID.
Click the arrow button next to the Apple ID message, then follow the onscreen instructions to enter your Apple ID and create a new password. You'll be asked to restart when done.
Log in with your new password.
Create a new login keychain.
Reset using another admin account
If you know the name and password of an admin account on your Mac, you can use that account to reset the password.
Log in with the name and password of the other admin account.
Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu, then click Users & Groups.
Click the Lock button closed lock, then enter the admin name and password again.
Select your user name from the list of users.
Click the Reset Password button, then follow the onscreen instructions to create a new password:
Change Password window
Choose Log Out from the Apple menu.
Log in to your account using your new password.
Create a new login keychain.
Reset using the Reset Password assistant (FileVault must be on)
If FileVault is turned on, you might be able to reset your password using the Reset Password assistant:
Wait up to a minute at the login screen, until you see a message saying that you can use the power button on your Mac to shut down and start up again in Recovery OS. If you don't see this message, FileVault isn't on.
Press and hold the power button until your Mac turns off.
Press the power button again to turn on your Mac.
When the Reset Password window appears, follow the onscreen instructions to create a new password.
If you need to connect to Wi-Fi, move your pointer to the top of the screen and use the Wi-Fi menu to connect. To exit without resetting your password, choose Apple menu > Restart.
Reset Password assistant window
When done, click Restart.
If you were able to reset your password with the Reset Password assistant, log in to your account using your new password.
Create a new login keychain.
Reset using your Recovery Key (FileVault must be on)
If FileVault is turned on and you have a FileVault Recovery Key, you can use that key to reset your password.
At the login screen, keep entering a password until you see a message saying that you can reset your password using your Recovery Key. If you don't see the message after three attempts, FileVault isn't on.
Click the arrow button next to the message. The password field changes to a Recovery Key field.
Enter your Recovery Key, then follow the onscreen instructions to create a new password. Click Reset Password when done.
Create a new login keychain.

Create a new login keychain

After resetting your password and logging back in to your account, you might see an alert that the system was unable to unlock your login keychain. This is expected, because the passwords for your user account and login keychain no longer match. Just click the Create New Keychain button.
If you didn't see an alert about your login keychain, or you see other messages asking for your old password, reset your keychain manually:
Open Keychain Access, which is in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder.
Choose Preferences from the Keychain Access menu, then click the Reset My Default Keychain button in the preferences window. After you enter your new password, Keychain Access creates an empty login keychain with no password. Click OK to confirm.

If you don't see a Reset My Default keychain button, close the preferences window and select the โ€œloginโ€ keychain from the left side of the Keychain Access window. Press the Delete key, then click Delete References.

Choose Log Out from the Apple menu to return to the login screen.
Log in to your account using your new password. Your account password and login keychain password now match again.

CREATE A BOOTABLE INSTALLER FOR MACOS

With macOS Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, or Mavericks, you can use a USB flash drive or other removable media as a startup disk from which to install the Mac operating system.

These advanced steps are intended primarly for system administrators and others who are familiar with the command line.
Use the 'createinstallmedia' command in Terminal

Download the macOS installer from the Mac App Store. Quit the installer if it opens automatically after downloading. The installer will be in your Applications folder.
Mount your USB flash drive or other volume. You could also use a secondary internal partition.
Open the Terminal app, which is in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder.
Use the createinstallmedia command in Terminal to create the bootable installer. For detailed usage instructions, make sure that the appropriate macOS installer is in your Applications folder, then enter one of the following paths in Terminal:
Path for Sierra:
/Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia
Path for El Capitan:
/Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia
Path for Yosemite:
/Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia
Path for Mavericks:
/Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia
Examples

This is the basic syntax of the command. Replace volumepath with the path to your USB flash drive or other volume, and replace installerpath with the path to the Install OS X app.
createinstallmedia --volume volumepath --applicationpath installerpath
The following examples assume that the OS X installer is in your Applications folder and the name of your USB flash drive or other volume is MyVolume:
Example for Sierra:
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app
Example for El Capitan:
sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app
Example for Yosemite:
sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app
Example for Mavericks:
sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume

How to use DiskPart to clean and format a drive

Important: Using DiskPart will completely erase everything on the drive you select, making it impossible to undo any changes. It's crucial that you correctly choose the drive you want to clean and format. We always recommend making a full backup of your system before proceeding.

Use the Windows key + X keyboard shortcut to open the Power User menu and select Command Prompt (Admin).
Connect the drive you want clean and format to your computer.
Type the following command and press Enter:

diskpart

Type the following command to list all the available drives and press Enter:

list disk

Take your time and very carefully, on the output from the previous command, identify the drive you want to clean.

For example, in the screenshot below, we can see that we have four different drives listed, including Disk 0, which is 30GB, and we can quickly determine that it's the primary system drive. And because we're trying to clean an 8GB drive, we can easily spot that Disk 3 is the drive we need to select.

Use the following command to select the drive and press Enter:

select disk 3

Remember to change 3 in the command with the number of the drive you want to clean. If you fail to choose the correct number will erase all the data from the wrong drive.

Type the following command to clean the drive and press Enter:

clean

Type the following command to double-check the drive still selected and press Enter:

list disk

If the drive still selected, you will notice an asterisk (*) next to the disk.

Type the following command to create a partition and press Enter:

create partition primary

Type the following command to select the partition you just created and press Enter:

select partition 1

Type the following command to set the partition active and press Enter:

active

Type the following command to format the partition using NTFS and to set a label, and press Enter:

format FS=NTFS label=WC-Drive quick

Remember to change the WC-Drive in the command with the drive name you want to use.

Type the following command to assign a drive letter and press Enter:

assign letter=W

Remember to change W in the command with a letter you want that isn't in use by another drive on This PC.
