RGU Student Kago Asung Wins Gold at All India Inter-University Ju-Jitsu Championship

Rono Hills, Doimukh: In a proud achievement for Rajiv Gandhi University, Ms. Kago Asung has secured a gold medal in the -45 kg category (Full Contact) at the prestigious All India Inter-University Ju-Jitsu Tournament 2025–26.

Hailing from Hong village and belonging to the Apatani tribe of Lower Subansiri district, Arunachal Pradesh, Asung represented the university with exceptional skill and determination. She delivered an outstanding performance at the championship held at LNCT University, Bhopal.

Road Near Kardo Shivalinga Damaged, Traffic Diverted

Ziro, April 21: A section of the PMGSY road (T04, Potin–Pangin NH-13 to Kardo Shivalinga) between Chainage 3.300 km and 3.350 km has been damaged after a road slide.

Authorities have declared the stretch unsafe and advised commuters to use alternative routes until repair work is completed. Travelers are urged to remain cautious.

Three Members from Lower Subansiri Inducted into State Unit of Human Rights Council of India

Ziro April 19: Three individuals from Lower Subansiri district Dr. Mudang Elyu, Dr. Taku Tacho, and Dr. Punyo Mullo were formally inducted as members of the State Unit of the Human Rights Council of India on April 19, 2026, in Itanagar.

The induction ceremony was held at the Mini Banquet Hall of Hotel Mumsi, where the declaration programme took place in the presence of dignitaries and officials.

Dr. Alo Libang, Hon’ble MLA and Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, attended the event as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of protecting human rights and urged the newly inducted members to serve with dedication and integrity for the welfare of society.

The Talent Round of the 3rd Edition of Mrs Grand Subansiri 2026 will be held on 24 January 2026 at 5:00 PM at Todo Hotel, Itanagar (A.P.), marking an important milestone in the prestigious pageant series. The event will be organized in collaboration with Mrs India and the Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society, with the objective of promoting women empowerment, confidence, and social awareness.
The Talent Round will witness enthusiastic participation as contestants will showcase their diverse skills, creativity, and talents. The judging panel will comprise Mrs. Taba Yajir Bengia, Reigning Mrs Grand Subansiri 1st Runner-Up; Shri Gejum Ingo, Founder of The Tyson Talkshow; and Mr. Tachang Phassang, Mr. Arunachal 2023 and Mr. India – National Universe 2024.
