Title : Need Unix Administrator
Role : Unix Administrator
Duration : 6+ Months
Location : Santa Clara, CA
Job Description:
• Setup, configure, and maintain enterprise-class web and middleware solutions.
• Work with extended teams to determine infrastructure requirements and make architectural recommendations.
• Support deployment and configuration of J2EE and Open Source platforms and applications in multiple environments ranging from development to production.
• Support deployment and configuration of PHP and MySQL-based web applications.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills. Will be required to thoroughly document design and deployment details for projects.
• Design and implement monitoring solutions for production applications and environments for both availability and performance.
• Perform network troubleshooting.
• Responsibility for system backups and recovery procedures.
• Troubleshoot web issues, take part in on-call pager rotation, and respond to critical situations
Required Skills :
• 2 - 5 years of experience running public facing websites.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
• Experience architecting infrastructure for highly available, highly scalable, multi-tier web-based systems required.
• Strong Systems Admin background in Solaris and/or Linux.
• Experience with Open Source platforms.
• Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Groovy, or Ruby.
• Demonstrated understanding of building, testing, and deploying applications on Java Application servers.
• Ability to work in a self-directed manner.
• Technologies supported include but are not limited to: Apache HTTP Servers, Tomcat, JBoss, and WebSphere Application Servers, PHP, Perl, MySQL, FTP, SSL Encryption, Web Statistics and Analytics, Wikis, Blogs, Forums, RSS, and WebContent Management Systems.
Strong knowledge of application servers like tomcat , weblogic , jboss not only basic installation but also can debug 1st level issues .
