With an aim to make Telangana preferred destination to the IT companies and emerge as a leader in the tech world, the Telangana government here on Monday inaugurated its new IT policy.
With this policy, Telangana aims to intensively use IT tools to improve process and deliver citizen services in a better way and standout as a role model to smart governance. The state wants to empower its citizen in a best possible way so that they can make use of increasing opportunities in the tech world.
Amid the presence of who’s who of the state, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao unveiled Telangana IT Policy 2016 at HICC, Hyderabad and presented the first copies to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan, Infosys Chairman Narayana Murthy and other guests.
Addressing the gathering, KCR assured that the state would always be industrial friendly. “Come to Telangana, Invest in Telangana, Let us grow together in Telangana,” he said.
Apart from IT policy, the government has also unveiled Innovation policy, Policy on Rural Technology Centres, IMAGE (Innovation in Multimedia, Animation, Gaming and Entertainment) Policy and Electronics policy.
The Innovation policy of Government of Telangana aims to build up on positive response to T Hub and put Hyderabad and Telangana on global innovation map. It takes cue from Silicon Valley, London, Berlin, Singapore among others.
With the rural policy, it aims to develop rural areas into tech centers which in turn aid in wealth and job creation
Speaking on the occasion, Narayana Murthy asked the newly born state to set benchmarks high and advised it to be humble. “Benchmark youself with the best global companies and try to reach new heights. Always be humble and never loose humility. Be open minded, be open to changes and always listen.”
Tim McGovern, an Oscar winning Visual Effects Supervisor, who unveiled the IMAGE (Innovation in Multimedia, Animation, Gaming and Entertainment) Policy said “Hope India would get to learn more about visual effects through this policy and one day would get to win an Academy award.”
Apart from unveiling the policy, the Telangana government has also signed a total of 28 MoUs, Letter of Intent (LoI) to arm Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) and T-Hub with leaders from the IT ecosystem.
