This position is for a Database Architect who has in-depth experience with Microsoft SQL Server,(ideally SQL Server 2016), MySQL, MongoDB & Cloud databases. The candidate will be required to identify business requirements, develop data models, perform data analysis, write advanced SQL queries and triggers, design and code complex stored procedures, and maintain and performance tune existing databases.
This position required to work with a globally distributed team of software and
database engineers. Proven experience working in this type of environment is a must. Candidates must be
experienced, motivated, self-starters who can work effectively without direct supervision.
Responsibilities:
* Design, code and maintain new and existing complex T-SQL stored procedures, triggers and functions Assist in the maintenance and administration of several production SQL Server databases Performance tune existing stored procedures, tables, triggers and indexes Work with other engineers to troubleshoot, repair and performance tune databases
Experience (Basic):
Minimum 6 years of in-depth experience using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or newer (preferably 2016) in a fast-paced, high transaction volume environment
Complex T-SQL stored procedure design, coding, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
Dynamic SQL stored procedure coding and troubleshooting Working with team members on high-level database design.
Proven analytical problem solving and debugging skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Working remotely with a geographically diverse team
Experience (Preferred).
Working with SQL Server Geography data types and functions Understanding of the shipping and transportation industry.
Working with high transaction, real-time data systems IoT data processing, storage and analysis.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
Other Skills:
* ETL expertise, including Integration Services HA and DR Expertise - always-on, replication, mirroring.
* Backup and Storage Maintenance
* Open Source RDBMS (ex: MySQL, MongoDB etc)
* Cloud knowledge and experience, including cloud databases and data warehousing (ex: Amazon RDS, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon RedShift, Azure Cosmos DB)
* Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD principles and practices. Knowledge on infrastructure - physical servers, RAC storage, clouds like AWS, Azure, Google etc.
