Some Security Tips from Tech Leads:
Always remember that anything on the internet is 99% secure. So 1% risk is always there and it can be the reason of huge potential loss.
Here are some measures that you can take to reduce the risk.
1.) Never share your Debit/Credit card number and pin with anyone. Even if someone calls you and says that he/she is calling from the Bank. Hide your Debit/Credit card both sides while it is in your hand and you are in the market as others can see it.
2.) Never let any unknown person use a debit card for you.
3.) Do not let any person come in the ATM box while you are using as this is the rule that one time only one person can enter in the ATM box.
4.) Do not share your Bank account number with an unknown person.
5.) Try to use Credit Card as much as possible for shopping than a Debit card. If you still need to use a Debit card then open a separate Bank account for it and keep the balance minimum, only the amount which you needed.
6.) Don't forget to press the cancel button while you leaving the ATM machine.
7.) Do not write your pin on your card. This is the worse mistake.
8.) Never do online shopping on websites that are not https-enabled. If a site is secure then there will be a lock icon shown on the front of the website name in the URL bar. Once you click on the lock icon it will show a message box that will display the message that "Connection is secure" or something like that.
9.) If you use net banking then change your password regularly. Always try to use a virtual keyword while login into the bank account. This will not let your password stolen as if some kind of malicious software installed on your computer/laptop. These kinds of software track which key we pressed on the keyboard and send it to the owner of the malicious software.
10.) Always enable a Two-step authentication method for login for all of your accounts.
11.) Always use a strong password with some Uppercase letters, numbers as well as the use of symbols like #,@%,&, etc...
12.) Never click on the links if you got it in an email from an unknown host as this could lead you to the malicious website and can install virus software on your system to track all your data. It is better not to click on any unknown links anywhere.
13.) Be careful as fraud people send you a link when you click on the link then the money transfer from your Paytm account to that person's account. Basically, these links are used to transfer money quickly from various sites. But some people start to use it illegally.
14.) Use a browser in Incognito mode to keep your privacy.
15.) Always keep your mobile/computer software up to date as each new versions are more secure than the previous ones. For example in the early versions of Android, you can easily install hidden apps in someone's mobile and can get the person's all calling history as well as the recording of the calls but new versions come with a lot of security.
16.) Enable firewall on your laptop/computer. It is good to use paid antivirus software which can sometimes save your huge cost.
17.) If possible do not use public Wi-Fi connections that are freely available. Someone can exploit your data in these connections.
18.) Do not save your passwords on the browser if you are using other than your own system.
