Happy and proud to share our client, Anu Nande's poem, Music and Silence which was first published in Five2One Magazine a few years ago, now featured on the International Connection podcast below. Do listen to her musings on music, identity and artistic expression.
Music and Silence
I think of golden, sun-baked fields, of grass growing amongst the pebbles and gravel and the hot sticky asphalt.
I think of overwhelming sunsets, the freedom of the seemingly endless spaces. A place very different to everything I’ve ever known.
I think of being shaped by that place and those people.
Of inevitable transformation
and pressed flowers in an old book.
Of the fine sand that settles over me like a second skin; a soft wind,
particles that might have traveled over great distances, making me long for places yet to see and things yet to experience.
Does the music evoke the emotion?
Does the resultant journey lend credence to the melody?
All that matters is the piece of my soul willingly given away to something that is by its very nature intangible.
In the end, I settle for letting it all wash over me
Repeatedly, untangling
Until all that is left is pure, raw
Vulnerable.
