Dear all,
There is a crisis situation overall and there is tremendous increase in broadband bandwidth nationally.
Broadband Traffic in India has spiked tremendously and there is choke up everywhere at times from category A ISP' like Bharti, Vodafone, TATA etc
It’s is an unexpected situation globally and hence cooperation is required
Even Netflix and YouTube and other content providers have degraded quality of videos temporarily to avoid congestion globally. Peering servers have been disabled temporarily by content providers.
Apart from increase in broadband traffic, more than 70% professionals are working from home which has lead to bandwidth choke even at VPN servers of IT companies as such spike was not anticipated.
All ISP's are having similar bandwith squeeze and all are working together to stabilize their networks by adjusting to the sudden spike. Even in case fiber maintenance movement of service teams is restricted as per current Govt guidelines.
Additional bandwith requirement has been sought to category A ISP's, but will take some time to be delivered.
