Mahaboob Subhani Shaik, Assistant Manager in our Projects Engineering & Delivery team, reflects on what 13 years at Commtel have taught him about learning, experience, and finding your own way of working.
“When I joined Commtel as a fresher, I came with what I had learned in engineering. But I soon realised that knowing something in theory and knowing how to handle it in a real situation are very different things.
Over the years, different projects, systems and people kept adding to that understanding. You learn that technical knowledge matters, but so does knowing how to approach a customer, work with a team, understand a situation, and decide what it needs from you.
I also realised that you don’t learn everything by being told what to do. A lot of it comes from having the space to think, try, ask when you need to, and gradually develop your own way of working.
That’s probably what has stayed with me the most. Even after 13 years, there is always something more to understand, and every experience changes the way you approach the next one.”
