Multi-author splits, special terms on exception discounts, TDS and GST exceptions — handled manually, once a year, under deadline pressure. Even when the math is right, the process itself invites disputes.

We built PUB+ on Cloud's royalty engine to calculate every statement automatically from real sales as they happen — exceptions included — with authors able to see their own numbers on demand through a dedicated dashboard.

Trust with an author shouldn't depend on how well finance survived close season.

Generic CRMs make you bend school visits, sample dispatches and adoption cycles into fields meant for retail deals. That's why most publishers end up back on Excel within six months.

SiddhiCRM is built around three publishing segments, not generic "leads":

K-12 Publishers
✅ School and chain-level opportunity tracking
✅ Class and subject-wise adoption management
✅ Sample dispatch tied to adoption potential
✅ Annual renewal pipeline automation

Higher Education
✅ Department and faculty-level opportunities
✅ Course-title adoption tracking
✅ Conference and seminar sponsorships
✅ Institutional relationship management

Medical Publishers
✅ Medical college and hospital tracking
✅ Faculty and HOD relationship management
✅ CME and workshop management
✅ High-value title adoption pipeline

A publisher in Delhi has a backlist worth licensing internationally. It's sitting in a folder no international buyer will ever open.

That's not a hypothetical — it's the default state of most Indian publishing catalogues. The books are good. The rights are available. The problem is entirely about discovery: an international rights buyer in London or Seoul has no reason to know this catalogue exists, let alone open it.

RightsDeck exists to remove exactly that friction. The process is deliberately unglamorous:

1. Publisher sends their catalogue over WhatsApp
2. RightsDeck lists it — properly formatted, rights-tagged (translation, screen, OTT, audio) — within the week
3. It's now visible to the international rights buyers actually looking for it

No forms. No account setup. No technical work on the publisher's side at all.

The bar we hold ourselves to isn't "did we build a nice platform." It's "did a book that would never have been found, get found." That's the only metric that matters here.
If your catalogue isn't listed yet, WhatsApp it to us — we'll take it from there.

Ask a publisher what a title actually cost to produce, and most can't answer beyond a single line item.

Paper and printing are a publisher's largest, most variable spend — yet in generic accounting software, it all lands as one undifferentiated cost line. No visibility into what's with the printer, what's been consumed, or what a specific title really cost to make.

We built PUB+ on Cloud to track it the way publishers actually work — reels, reams and sheets; paper issued to the printer, printer to the binder; cost built up title by title, with live stock valuation.

The largest line in a publisher's P&L shouldn't be the least visible one.

Publishers who stopped chasing individual rights deals are landing more deals overall.

There's a pattern in the rights business worth naming: the publishers who treat each license as its own isolated transaction consistently do worse over a year than the ones who don't.
What the second group builds instead is a rights ecosystem — three things working together continuously: → Discoverability (buyers can actually find and evaluate the catalogue, year-round, not just at a fair) → Trusted publishing relationships (repeat counterparties who already know how you work) → Continuous market engagement (staying visible between deals, not just during them)

Book fairs and one-off transactions still matter. But they're not a strategy on their own — they're one input into a system that should be running every month of the year, not three weeks of it.

This is the exact gap Rights Deck was built to close. More on that below.

1,200+ publishers. 12 countries. 10 million transactions a month.

That's the scale PUB+ on Cloud runs at today — for CBS Publishers & Distributors, Rupa Publications, Rajkamal Prakashan, Himalaya Pub. House, and hundreds of others who run their entire book business on it: production, sales, royalty, dispatch.

We didn't get here by building a generic ERP and bolting on publishing features. We built it the other way around — 24+ years focused on nothing but the book trade.

Anil Bhardwaj of Blackstone Books put it simply: with PUB+ on Cloud, they're confidently striding toward their next crore milestone.

The imported premium edition lost. Again. And it wasn't close.

There's a persistent belief that a strong global price point will travel. In India, it usually doesn't.

India is one of the most price-sensitive publishing markets in the world. A well-priced local edition consistently outperforms an imported premium one — not marginally, but decisively. And there's a second-order effect that matters just as much: affordable, legally licensed editions reduce piracy by giving readers a legitimate option that's actually within reach.

For rights holders, that means an India-specific pricing strategy isn't a concession. It's the thing that: → Increases commercial success of the license → Protects the long-term value of the rights themselves → Builds a sustainable market instead of a one-off sale

Global pricing works in a lot of places. India asks you to build the deal on its terms, not export someone else's.

40% efficiency gain, 30% cost savings — across every warehouse, in one rollout.

An educational publisher in Nigeria moved inventory, order processing, billing and returns onto PUB+ on Cloud across all warehouses and head office. The result: full stock visibility for the first time, a 40% efficiency gain, and 30% lower operating costs.

They didn't stop there. Once the back office was clean, they added the Sales Team App for their field reps — and grew 30% on top of it.

We don't count this as a software rollout. We count it as a publisher finally seeing their whole operation on one screen.

One India license just cost a publisher five separate revenue streams.

Here's a mistake we see constantly at the negotiating table: treating "India rights" as one line item.

India isn't one market. It's several, layered on top of each other: → English language publishing → Hindi → Regional languages — Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia and more

Each has its own readership, its own commercial model, and its own licensing potential. A single broad territorial license bundles all of that into one deal — which feels efficient, but quietly closes the door on four or five licensing conversations that could have happened separately, later, on better terms.

The publishers building real long-term rights value are the ones structuring by language and format from the start, not defaulting to "all rights, India, done."

If you've licensed into India before — did you license by language, or by territory? Curious how common each approach still is.
