Microchip Technology has added the LX-820 quartz oscillator to its portfolio, supporting the demanding timing requirements of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) applications. Precise and reliable timing components are essential for maintaining synchronization and performance in satellite communication systems and other space-based technologies.

Inertial Labs, a VIAVI company, has launched the INS-NV, a programmable Inertial Navigation System (INS) development platform designed to support advanced navigation and motion-sensing applications. The platform highlights the growing importance of precise navigation technologies across aerospace, defence, robotics, and autonomous systems.

“Visual navigation needs continuous information about vehicle position, orientation and time. Because these systems have traditionally lacked a high-end processor, developers have to spend considerable R&D time and budget to integrate their software with the INS, and that’s before they build a platform,” said Jamie Marraccini, Vice President, Inertial Labs, a VIAVI Solutions Company. “The advanced sensor fusion addresses this challenge, enabling developers to run their own visual navigation stacks alongside our INS and AHRS technologies, and more quickly create advanced alternative navigation and PNT systems.”
