🙈Complete view even with closed eyes. AGVs with radar scanners monitor their surroundings and objects in three dimensions, so you can see more than with cameras. This simplifies the handling of load carriers, as not only distances are recorded, but also real shapes. Turck's MR15-Q80 radar scanner supplies the data for this via IO-Link. Supplying three different types of signal — safe and standard switching signals as well as IO-Link signals — to a safety controller can be a frustrating process that often requires the use of multiple different I/O components. Using the example of a vacuum gripper on a handling tool that forms part of a bodywork press, we show you that this does not have to be the case. The TBPN hybrid safety I/O module provides safe PROFIsafe and standard signals as well as IO-Link signals to the safety controller, thus saving wiring and hardware costs.

In private communication, the word "long-distance call" has had its day. In the industrial communication technology of process plants, one still finds long-distance calls. Turck FOC media converters transmit fieldbus telegrams for communication over long distances via fiber optic cables. Since the light signals are immune to electromagnetic interference, this is sometimes also recommended over short distances. The media converters are currently the only ones on the market that can also be mounted in Ex zone 1 for the transmission of intrinsically safe RS 485 IS signals.
