Reliance Jio has announced UPI Autopay service for its subscribers. The UPI Autopay service has been introduced in association with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). With this, Jio claims to have become the first telecom company to launch this feature.

With UPI Autopay, Reliance Jio users can set standing instructions for auto-debit for their tariff plans through UPI. Jio subscribers can set these instructions on the MyJio app. This means that Jio users will no longer need to remember their recharge or renewal date or bill payment date.

For recharge amounts up to Rs. 5000, customers will not be required to enter the UPI PIN on the ex*****on of the recharge. Users can also create, modify as well as remove the e-mandate for the tariff plans as per their requirements through UPI Autopay.

The UPI Auto-pay service is for Reliance Jio's prepaid as well as post-paid customers.

Noise has launched a new smartwatch Noise ColorFit Caliber in the Indian market.

Noise ColorFit Caliber features a 1.69 - inch TFT display with a 240×280 Pixels resolution. The Smartwatch includes a three-axis accelerometer and is paired with sensors to enable SpO2 ( Oxygen level) and 24×7 heart rate monitoring. It is also capable of tracking stress, sleep and menstrual cycle monitoring as well as offering body temperature measurement. The Noise ColorFit Caliber offers 60 sports modes. Also, the wearable comes with more than 150 customisable and cloud watch faces. It also come with an IP68 - rated build for dust and water resistance. The Smartwatch also comes with a Silicone wrist strap which can be adjusted as per your wrist size. Similar to other smartwatches, Noise ColorFit Caliber can provide notification alerts when paired with an Android phone or an iPhone. It comes with Bluetooth Support as well. The Smartwatch comes bundled with a magnetic charger. Noise ColorFit Caliber promises to offer 15 days of battery backup on a single charge. It is available in Black, Blue, Green, Red and White colors.

The Noise ColorFit Caliber is priced at Rs. 3,999 in India. However, it can be purchased from Flipkart at an initial price of Rs. 1999, given on the Flipkart mobile app. The Smartwatch will go on sale on January 6 at 12:00 P.M.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a new mobile application named - Dost for Life. The CBSE Dost for Life is designed for students of class 9th to 12th. The purpose of this app is to improve students' Psycho-social wellness. Keeping the current Covid-19 situation in mind, this counseling app will help students to deal with depression, anxiety, internet addiction disorder, specific learning disability and more. CBSE has been started its annual counselling programme on May 10.

This new app of CBSE will simultaneously facilitate students/parents from all over the world who belong to CBSE schools. The Board will conduct live counselling sessions free of cost thrice a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday by trained counselors and principals. Students and parents of CBSE affiliated schools can choose any of the two time slots : 9:30 am to 1:30 pm or 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm and connect through a chatbox as per their convenience.

The app will also provide students information on suggestive course guides after 10+2, tips on mental health and well-being, a Corona guide, and also rap songs.

The app is available on the Google Play Store which can be easily downloaded.

Students and parents can participate in the counselling via the official website cbse.gov.in.

Google users with select enterprise and business accounts will now get an insight on the editors of a document. Google Docs enables users to edit a shared document in real-time. With the new show Editors option in place, it will be convenient for users working on Google Docs to keep track of who edited what content in a shared document. Users will also have the option to open the version history of a document. The new feature is available to users starting May 3 and will roll out gradually in 15 days.

"You can now view richer information on the edit history of a particular range of content in Google Docs. Simply highlight and right-click on a range of text and select "Show Editors" from the drop-down menu. Here, you can view a list of editors and their latest edits along with time stamps. You'll also have the option to open the Version History of the document", Google noted in a blog post. "This makes it easier to track edits made by multiple collaborators, giving greater insight into who the recent editors were, what changes were made and when."

As mentioned above the feature is only available to Google Users with select Business or Enterprise accounts which include Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, and Education Plus Customers. These do not include Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Enterprise Essentials or even GSuite basic users.

The centre on Friday launched a mobile app 'Mera Ration' which ration card holders, particularly migrant beneficiaries, can use for identifying the nearest fair price shop, check details of their entitlement and recent transactions.

The android based mobile application has been developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC). It is currently available in Hindi and English language. Gradually, it will be made available in 14 languages.

Under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), the government supplies highly subsidised foodgrains at Rs. 1-3 per kg to over 81 crore people through public distribution system (PDS). It is also offering ration card portability service 'One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC)' in 32 states and union territories.

After the launch, Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey said the new mobile app aims to facilitate the ONORC - related services among beneficiaries of the NFSA , particularly migrant beneficiaries, fair price shop (FPS) or ration shop dealers and other stakeholders.

" We plan to have this mobile app in 14 languages. These languages are identified based on places where most migrant people move," he said.

* Key features :

• The migrant beneficiaries will be able to register their migration details through the mobile app.

• The beneficiaries can register themselves before starting their journey and the system will automatically allocate the entitled fooodgrains.

• The NFSA beneficiaries will be able to use the app to identify the nearest fair price shop and check details of their foodgrains entitlement and the previous six - month transactions and status of Aadhaar seeding.

• Through the app, the beneficiary will know what he is entitled to and he need not ask fair price shop (FPS) dealer how much he would get.

• The beneficiaries can login into the app using their Aadhaar or Ration card number.

The government supplies 5 kg of subsidised foodgrains to each person per month through 5.4 lakh ration shops.

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday launched the 'Union Budget' mobile app for hassle-free access of budget documents by members of parliament and general public.

Developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) under the guidance of the department of economic affairs (DEA), the app can be downloaded from the Union Budget web portal. (www.indiabudget.gov.in)

Launched on the occasion of the customary 'halwa' ceremony, the app facilitates complete access to 14 Union Budget documents, including the annual financial statement, demand for grants (DG), finance bill and more as prescribed by the constitution.

"The app has a user-friendly interface with embedded features of downloading, printing, search, zoom in and out, bidirectional scrolling, table of contents and external links, etc. It is bilingual (English & Hindi) and will be available on both Android and iOS platforms," the finance ministry said in an official release.

Budget documents will be available on the mobile app after the completion of the budget speech by the finance minister on February 1, 2021, it added.

Google on Thursday launched a redesigned version of Google Photos app to help people better organize their pictures and videoes.

Google photos that now includes a new map feature, a new icon and three tabs to organize your photos. With over one billion users, Google Photos is one of the most popular apps to store photos.

* Here's what's new with Google Photos.

• Simplified design :
The refreshed app uses a new three - tab layout with Photos, Search, and Library pages. Photos and Videos are now prominent. The update makes your photos appear slightly larger and have less space between them. The photos tab has also been updated with larger thumbnails, auto-playing videos. With the update, Google has clearly given the emphasis on search, which is now front and center in the navigation bar at the bottom.

• Memories :
Last year, Google introduced a Memories feature that let users revisit photos taken this time a few years ago. Now, Google is adding more types of memories, which include the best pictures of you and your closest friends and family over the years, trips and highlights from the last week.
