I'm Arjun S Meda, worked more than 12 years with infosys, now into robotic process Automation as evangelist and consultant. Helping students learn technology! Also an online trainer as well as corporate trainer.

Why are you doing this?
Initially started career with testing and then automation testing. Saw huge potential in automating things. Helping students make a career out of it, since this is my passion!

What is RPA?
Robotic process automation, robotics anything which can be automated! Process is the sequence of steps and automation means, anything which can work without human intervention! RPA is software bots or programs!

How can I learn RPA?
In background, if you can think of an logic. You can learn RPA.

Last week, I had a privilege to interview Vojtech Kurka Co-Founder & CTO of Meiro.io, firm into big data and big data analytics. I wanted to share his learning into this field and if you aspire to jump into big data field what are the steps you need to talk.

Question 1 - Brief introduction about you and your company?
Answer - Merio.io is into big data analytics, with the help of products they are developing. They can help their customers analyzing the data. Helping their clients understand their customers in much better way! Easy to use interface helps even non-technical people to do data analysis.

Question 2 - What is your role in the company?
Answer - I’m CTO, leading the product development. Leading team of analyst, who are working with the clients.

Question 3 - Why are you doing this?
Answer - Providing simpler solutions to customers, usually analyzing data is time consuming process but with our solutions, we are giving power to the people of data analysis.

Question 4 - What technologies will overtake the world in next 5 years?
Answer - I’m not the right person to answer the question :D Question 5 - Big data, what is that? Why should I care about it? Answer - Big data, is not a scary mysterious buzz word. Big data is huge amount of data! It is very important to observe the data to make things better! It should be a universal skill!

Question 6 - How can I become Big data expert? What steps you would recommend?
Answer - Go into the depth, learn with practical approach! You should stick to basics! SQL is the most fundamental thing you should learn! 70% of the big data problems can be solved with simple SQL.

Question 7 - What special degree / certificates I need to become big data expert?
Answer - There is no need of special degree to pursuit this as a career option!

Question 8 - What are the good resources I can get started?
Answer - Curiosity - fundamental thing you need! Read blogs from companies like netflix, airbnb and spotify! Learn from their architecture. You need to understand the data collection!

Question 9 - Number 1 advice for newbies who are getting into big data field!
Answer - Be patient and open minded!

Hi, have you wondered how Facebook messenger, WhatsApp or any other chat application works in real time?

It always feels like the communication is two way just like talking to a person on a phone.

Note
Well, I'm not saying this is what they use because I don't work there but when I trained my students using a real-time database with angular, they asked me if that is what Facebook and other chat apps use. They may have a totally different technology but they are good examples to explain.

What is a traditional database?

In a traditional database, you have to run one query to save the values inside the database and another query to retrieve the values. Now, these are 2 separate queries hitting the database.

What is the problem with the traditional database?

Your application these days make so many requests that it literally shows or crashes the system

What is the solution?

Consider this, a great mathematician is sitting inside a locked room, if you have any questions, you knock on his door, you unlock the door, you ask the question, he gives you the result and you lock the door.

Now you can see where your energy is getting wasted.

What if we remove the locked door, you can ask questions directly to the person without unlocking and locking the door again and again.

How real-time database work?

Looking at the above solution, we can see, only by removing the door will solve a lot many problems.

This is how a real-time database work. They create a direct connection to the database(just like a traditional database) but when you need an answer you don't have to open the door, again and again, you close it when you are done.

Examples of real-time database

Firebase is probably the best realtime database I've worked with and trained People in it.

It is easily integrated and great documentation.

What is Angular?

Have you ever wondered, how you are able to browse facebook website without refreshing or loading the page?

How are you able to upload photos on Facebook in the background while chatting with your friends on facebook website? 🤔

The answer is javascript with other concepts like ajax(but we will try not to lose focus)

Angular uses the power of javascript and other concepts like components, MVC, shadow dom to make powerful websites like facebook.

The official definition of Angular - Angular is a platform that makes it easy to build applications with the web. Angular combines declarative templates, dependency injection, an end to end tooling, and integrated best practices to solve development challenges.

But in simple terms, angular enables you to create an application which is more responsive to user's action with less amount of code.

Taking an example, it is very easy to create a simple email validation where you will find if user's email is a valid email address or not.

You may think, I can do this with jQuery or with simple javascript then why I need angular?

Well lets look into the advantages of using angular framework

✅ Supports shadow dom - makes your application more memory efficient and faster
✅ Reusable components - you don't have to create a same thing again and again, just create one component and reuse it everywhere.
✅ One framework for all - you can create application for mobile, web as well as desktop with just one project.
✅ Inbuilt PWA - Progressive web apps are taking over the world, with angular you can create PWA with inbuilt capabilities.
✅ Typescript - Borrows most of the features of .net which gives the power of powerful concepts of object oriented programming.

ℹ️ The learning curve of angular?

Just like it takes some time to understand a framework, angular does have a learning curve but it is all worth it.

👍 For an average programmer, it will take 14 days 4 hours a day to learn angular.
