Congratulations to GeoFeel for winning the Open Data Hub challenge! 🙌

Through the challenge presented at the 10th NOI Hackathon Summer Edition, Open Data Hub, the European digital platform supporting digital solutions powered by real data, explored new ways to make data easier to understand and interact with.

🌐 As part of an active collaboration with Suggesto, a company specialised in e-tourism services and technologies for web and mobile applications, Open Data Hub invited participants to transform Open Data Hub datasets into interactive spatial visualisations using Godot and Meta Quest 3.

Four teams developed different approaches, exploring how real data can be experienced in new ways through immersive technologies.
The winning project, GeoFeel, took a different approach from the other teams, focusing on enhancing haptic feedback. The team transformed Open Data Hub data into an interactive experience, adding a new layer of interaction and immersion.

For Open Data Hub and Suggesto, one of the most valuable aspects of the event was seeing the variety of ideas, projects and perspectives brought by the teams, showing new possibilities for using real data. 🔍 Discover all of them now! https://www.hackathon.bz.it/

… Yes, the call is still open! We’re looking for volunteers to join the team behind the NOI Hackathon SFSCON Edition!

On 13th & 14th November, NOI Hackathon will return to NOI Techpark Bolzano for its SFSCON edition and volunteers will help create the experience behind the scenes. From welcoming participants and supporting check-in to timekeeping and coordination during the event activities.

It’s a chance to see NOI Hackathon from a different perspective, meet the community and be part of the team making the event happen.

🏆 Congratulations to Rehub project for winning the RTC challenge!

For the first time as a NOI Hackathon challenge provider, RTC, an IT company providing technology services and IT support services and part of Gruppo FOS, invited participants to tackle a real-world challenge through gamification.

The focus was developing a software that could encourage users to better organise or carry out everyday activities that may feel “boring”, using reward-based gamification systems.

Five teams took on this challenge, exploring different ideas and applications of this concept. Choosing a winner wasn't easy for RTC: projects were evaluated based on quality of the prototype, user experience, adherence to the tack and the originality of the approach. Rehub stood out with its companion app, applying gamification to post-operative rehabilitation to help patients stay motivated throughout their recovery journey.

RTC’s involvement went beyond the challenge itself by offering job opportunities to two members of the winning team! 🤝

Since the first NOI Hackathon in 2013, the event has evolved, creating new opportunities to experiment and turn ideas into working prototypes.

Over the years, new formats and editions have been introduced, leading to the 10th Summer Edition, where solving real-world challenges comes with a relaxed summer atmosphere - and sometimes the best ideas come after a quick dip in the pool. 🏊

One thing remains the same: creating a space where innovation grows through collaboration.
