We invite you to watch this video showing the evolution of the LiveMap smart helmet.

In this video the CEO and Founder of LiveMap, Andrew Artishchev and LiveMap’s Engineer and Test Rider, Vladimir Dudunov take you through the development prototypes of the LiveMap helmet. They share what they learned with each prototype and how the lessons learned with each prototype has allowed them to bring forth a helmet that will have no rival. It shows the evolution of the design. It shows that something such as this takes time. If you are doing it this way which is the right way then it will take time because each step is needed. It can’t be rushed. A true HUD design is the end result. Not a micro prism optic or waveguide glass that is screwed on or glued on. A true HUD integrated into the helmet’s visor. As the tagline says... Ride a bike like a fighter pilot!

From CAD to Show Model at the CES 2019

In all, approximately forty 3D Printed parts were used to create the final helmet. The majority of the parts were created on an SLA system, due to its ability to create accurate models with good impact strength, good heat deflection and excellent surface finishes.

Each of the parts were sanded, primed and painted using a 2-stage automotive grade, color matched paint. The vector logos and markings were converted into PMS color matched decals and applied before the final clear coat, which protects them from being scuffed or scratched. The SLA clear visor was hand sanded to a near mirror finish, then protected with a UV resistant automotive clear coat (color tints may also be applied to clear parts when needed).

Prototype D: Industrial design for mass production, with co-development with Smirnov Design studio. Next generation optic engine, with smallest volume and better integration in the helmet, projection in this prototype will be directly to the visor with a “combiner” (transparent mirror which generate images) in a single piece, combiner will be as surface of visor.

We have presented our solution to TUV (certification agency) and got clear answer that our Livemap helmet can pass safety test by standards ECE 22.05 and DOT while other solutions based on microdisplay or waveguide technology do not comply with safety regulations. Its a success for Livemap! (but we already knew that) :)
