L'esperienza con la Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana, promossa e realizzata da Piql Italia con il supporto Piql AS, è stata sicuramente la più alta espressione dell'utilizzo della tecnologica Piql in campo storico culturale.
La collaborazione con il Dott. Luciano Ammenti, e con gli allora suoi collaboratori, ci ha arricchiti tutti ed ha conferito alla soluzione tecnologica Piql il rango che merita nel panorama della long term preservation digitale.

Today 24th May an important event sponsored by Piql Italia has taken place at the Center for American Studies in Rome: the conference on "Digital Preservation of Libraries" held on the occasion of the presentation of the book "Per litteras ad astra" by Luciano Ammenti, dealing with the history of the automation of the Vatican Library, from paper to digital preservation. We congratulate Mr Ammenti with this important publication and thank him for including in the book a section devoted to Piql which contributed to the digital long term preservation of important documents and manuscripts of the Vatican Library now preserved and stored on Piql film and also in the Arctic World Archive at Svalbard islands.
Among the speakers at the conference, some representatives of BAV (Vatican Library), INAF (Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica) and universities and CERN libraries.

Sul set della giornata di chiusura del docuFilm Tener A Mente, una produzione di Variety Distribution anche con la collaborazione tecnologica di Piql Italia.
La mascherina, opera dell'Arh. Natasha Calandrino di NK Architettura e design, costituiranno un importante contributo al convegno medico "Contagio" che si terra' a febbraio 2021 a Milano.
Tener A Mente, il Contagio della diversita', provera' a dare il suo contributo sul tema mai troppo dibattuto della Sindrome di Asperger.

We discussed about events, movies, traditions, foods, Stockfish, tourism and promotional activities focused on Messina and its environment.
We planning a new operative meeting to explore a possible collaboration about digital preservation and new challenge to promote tourism of Messina and its province.

This event, where Piql Italia was involved with Valentina Tamborra and the Norvegian Embassy in Italy, at the moment was stopped by Norvegian Government, due to the not optimistic newsabout Covid19 that are emerging in the last days in Italy and in the world.
We hope to start again very fast before the end of this year.

L’Ambasciata desidera comunicare che la mostra fotografica di Valentina Tamborra “Mi Tular - io sono il confine”, programmata per fine settembre, sarà rinviata a data da destinarsi dovuta all'incertezza dell'andamento della pandemia di Covid-19.

“Mi Tular” in antico etrusco significa “Io sono il confine”. In questo lembo di terra ghiacciata incastonato nel Mar Glaciale Artico, orsi polari e uomini si contendono un confine invisibile. La parola “Tular” riporta alla mente il mito dell’Ultima Thule, l’ultima isola al di là del mondo conosciuto. Per lungo tempo le Svalbard - isole dove in inverno la temperatura scende fino a -30°, la luce è un miraggio che dura poche ore al giorno e gli orsi polari superano numericamente gli abitanti. Questa mostra costituisce un’ulteriore e importante tappa del lavoro svolto da Valentina Tamborra, fotografia documentaristica, alle Isole Svalbard tra giugno 2018 e marzo 2019 con il sostegno di Visit Norway e finalizzato a indagare l’arcipelago, i suoi abitanti e ad approfondire il tema dei confini.

Vi vogliamo presentare tener a mente un docu-film che racconta la storia di cinque ragazzi nello spettro autistico uniti dalla passione per la musica. Cantare, suonare, esibirsi è ciò che li fa sentire nel mondo. Grazie a questo loro talento sono stati scelti per partecipare al Progetto Recercare a Mente primo laboratorio di musica per ragazzi speciali in Italia realizzato dal
Conservatorio Santa Cecilia, (direttore Roberto Giuliani, relatrice e coordinatrice del progetto Teresa Chirico) e Exodus Cassino. Per un anno I ragazzi hanno seguito lezioni di musica, canto, liuteria, restauro e accordatura di pianoforte, con la prospettiva di trovare un lavoro o entrare nel conservatorio. L’improvvisa emergenza sanitaria mondiale legata al COVID-19 ha messo tutto in sospeso. Immersi nella loro diversità, nel tentativo di condurre una propria quotidianità durante la quarantena hanno trovato nella musica uno strumento per essere se stessi, per esprimersi, per sognare e per condividere la propria passione con gli amici, la famiglia e i professori.

La musica potrà diventare per loro un mestiere o aprire porte ad un futuro diverso?

We want to present tener a mente a docu-film that tells the story of 5 young adults in the autistic spectrum who share a passion for music. Thanks to their musical talent, they are selected to participate in the project Recercare a Mente, first autistic spectrum inclusion project in Italy realized by Conservatorio Santa Cecilia (director Roberto Giuliani, co-ordinator of project Teresa Chirico) and Exodus Cassino. For a year, the five young protagonists take music lessons and learn skills as violin making, tuning pianos, and restoration of instruments with the prospect of finding a job or take the admission exams to enter the music conservatory in Rome. Yet, the global emergency related to COVID-19 puts everything at a halt. Immersed in their own world, in an attempt of finding a certain regularity during the quarantine period, the protagonists find in music a way of being themselves, of expressing themselves, of dreaming and sharing their passion with friends, family, and professors.

Can music become for them a means of living and open doors for the future?
