APAC Projects Series - Malaysia 🇲🇾

Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur set out to bring its Sky Bar back to life, restoring its identity as a vibrant entertainment destination with renewed energy.

Working closely with Nextrend Systems Sdn Bhd, the brief was to upgrade the existing sound system and automation to deliver a more immersive, balanced, and easy-to-manage experience across the venue, from entrance and café areas through to the DJ zone and swimming pool.

A combination of K-array and KGEAR systems was deployed, including KX12, KS series subs, KP102, KK52, and GC series loudspeakers, supported by a centralized control and processing setup to ensure seamless operation and consistent coverage throughout the space.

The result is a revitalised Sky Bar with audio bringing the space back to life!

What happens when a rental company needs to deliver world-class sound in the middle of a historic city, with strict noise control, complex rigging requirements, and last-minute production changes?

Parma Cittàdella Musica Live Concert hosted major performances from Andrea Bocelli, Sting, Zucchero and more, demanding a PA system capable of delivering powerful, detailed audio while maintaining precise control across the entire venue.

Using Firenze-KH7 with KS8 subs, the rental team achieved precise beam steering, even coverage, powerful low-end, and studio-like definition across the audience area, all while keeping the system lightweight and fast to deploy.

When structural changes forced adjustments to the rigging plan just days before setup, the system's compact weight meant production could move forward without redesigning the entire audio setup.

Last week, we hosted another edition of K-academy at K-array HQ in Florence, bringing together over 50 AV integrators, consultants, and designers from different parts of the world.

Over two days, the focus was on how things are actually done, through hands-on sessions with K-array, KSCAPE, and KGEAR, alongside real project examples and live demonstrations. The aim was to explore how each system behaves in practice and how they come together in real installations.

Music is always part of the experience. This edition included an intimate live performance from the Romina Capitano Trio, featuring Riccardo Galardini and Klaus Lessmann, an expressive performance rooted in contemporary jazz.

There was also time to walk the factory, see the process behind the products, and spend time sharing conversations, eating and drinking local food and wine, and a few moments away from the technical side of things.

Continuing our look at the new website, our new product pages were designed to make finding the right solution easier.

When working on a project, the search rarely starts with a product name. More often, it starts with a requirement. A specific application. A certification. A technical need.

That’s why we’ve redesigned our product pages to help users navigate in ways that feel more natural.

Products can now be filtered across brands, applications and key product codes or requirements, whether that’s marine certifications, EN-54, EBS, or other project-specific criteria.

The goal wasn’t to add more information. It was to make the right information easier to find. Less time searching through pages. More time focusing on the project itself.

As with every update across the new site, the thinking was simple: create tools that support the way architects, designers and integrators actually work.

Thailand - continuing the APAC highlights series, we now visit The Honor Yothinpattana in Bangkok, where luxury is experienced in every detail - including the sound you never see.

Inside the clubhouse, K-array systems were discreetly integrated throughout the cigar lounge, dining areas, and social spaces to preserve the elegance of the architecture while delivering a seamless audio experience throughout.

Continuing our rental series, K-array and No Borders Music Festival show how the right PA system helps rental companies perform in demanding real-world environments.

The new K-array website changes the way people discover our solutions.

Choosing an audio system should begin with the space, not with a catalogue. That’s why the new Applications section lets users explore solutions through real environments: from hotels and restaurants to meeting rooms, private homes, wellness areas and venues.

The new configurator takes this one step further. By selecting the type of space, its size and the needs of the project, users can receive a realistic reference scenario, created to show how different K-array solutions can be used and positioned in spaces with specific needs.

A practical starting point to understand what each environment may require, and to imagine how the solution can be adapted to a real project.

🇯🇵 Japan: This month, we highlight exceptional installations across APAC, featuring our collaboration with オーディオブレインズ at BAR DANRO in Tokyo’s Ebisu district. This elegant “luxury vintage” bar concept seamlessly blends the sophistication of high-end hotel lounges with an inviting, intimate atmosphere.

BAR DANRO was designed as a space where detail matters in every sense, and music plays a central role in shaping the guest experience. The client’s brief was to deliver high-resolution, highly detailed sound without compromising the aesthetics of the interior design.

K-array systems were selected and discreetly integrated throughout the venue using Vyper-KV25 II, Lyzard-KZ1 I, Rumble-KU26, Truffle-KTR24, GC3, and GC5, ensuring complete coverage while remaining visually unobtrusive.

The result is a sound environment where music doesn’t dominate the space, it becomes part of it. A seamless integration of audio and design that enhances the atmosphere and elevates the overall guest experience.
