Dear customer:
Thank you for your support!
CF258
Recently, we found that the printer firmware update may cause the third-party replacement consumables cannot be recognized by printers, such as new replacement toner cartridges for HP CF258A..
“Supply Memory Error"
Usually, the printer will be set as automatic update when your printer program is installed, and then HP will automatically update the firmware in the background without notification and your consent. The updated printer will prompt "Supply memory Error" when using replacement consumables, it means the replacement consumables cannot be recognized by printers. Another situation is that the user opens the function of automatic firmware update on the printer panel, and the printer will automatically detect and update the firmware. The updated printer will prompt "Supply memory Error" when using replacement consumables, it also means the replacement consumables cannot be recognized by printers. This information is misleading. The updated printer does identify dead toner cartridges, but the main purpose is to prevent end users from using third-party replacement products. If you make a firmware update, you will pay more than replacement products to use the OEM products.
Fortunately, our new version product can solve this update problem and can be recognized by printers.
If your printer runs smoothly and you want to continue to use products of our brand or any other cost-effective products in the future, we suggest that you turn off the firmware automatic update function. For specific operation methods, you can click the following website to see instructions for video or refer the specific operation steps on the back.
If you have different opinions after reading this letter, please contact our customer service or local dealers. We are happy to provide suggestions to meet your needs.
