Brainstorm Dev Network To promote and invigorate the computer science and digital media development scene, first at the University of Technology, Jamaica and Jamaica at large.

The BrainStorm Dev Net (BSDN) is a project of RoaringSteed. We see there is a need to help develop the young minds of Jamaica and want to do our part in this process. The BrainStorm Sprints are a series of compendious, creative, challenges, designed to test both knowledge and skill in computing.

Interested in understanding a new programming language before the start of the school semester? Ruby is a good choice. It's faster to understand and very powerful when it comes to building web apps.

We have been using it on a few projects over the summer and recommend that you give it some attention. Here is a link to a very thorough beginners guide:

Ruby is an object-oriented language. What does that even mean? It has unique quirks and characteristics that we’ll explain clearly. This article assumes that you have no programming experience, not even HTML.

There has been two weeks of in-activity from the Dev Network, we ask for your forgiveness. We have organized and have officially set two days for the Dev Network to meet.
Tuesdays ( room: undecided ) and Thursdays ( room 2B6 ) @ 4pm. The leader for the days will be Gianni and Adrian, respectively. That said we meet this Thursday @ 4pm ( usual time ) in room 2B6.
