Digital Realty is proud to announce the opening of the Digital Realty Innovation Lab (DRIL) in London — our first EMEA location, and a significant milestone in our global network of production-grade testing and validation environments. 🎉
Joined by our President and CEO, Andy Power, Chief Technology Officer, Chris Sharp, Paula Cogan, Managing Director of EMEA, and Séamus Dunne, Managing Director, UK & Ireland – we've had the honor of welcoming our valuable customers and partners to experience this milestone together with us.
DRIL in London gives enterprises and partners across the region a dedicated space to test, validate, and optimize AI and hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions in a live data center environment. A special thank you to our valuable partners, Options Technology, Zenlayer, ORCA Computing, Chatsworth Products, ePlus inc. and CommScope for sharing their experiences of the DRIL.
Located in our Docklands campus, one of Europe’s densest interconnection points, the London DRIL supports workloads up to 150kW+ per cabinet and provides direct access to ServiceFabric® and our Private AI Exchange (AIPx). That combination means EMEA enterprises can validate the architectures that define modern production of AI — private inference, hybrid cloud patterns, and multi-vendor ecosystems — in one place, before they scale.
Leveraging Digital Realty’s infrastructure and engineering expertise, enterprises can test and validate solutions from a curated mix of OEMs, solution partners, and infrastructure specialists.
As Chris Sharp, Digital Realty’s Chief Technology Officer, put it: “Winning architectures will be private, hybrid, and openly interconnected — and that’s exactly what London can now prove out in our lab, with workloads validated end-to-end across ServiceFabric® and our Private AI Exchange before a single switch is flipped in production.”
And from Séamus Dunne, Managing Director for the UK and Ireland: “The DRIL is how we help customers get there — by turning concepts into tested, deployable solutions before any major capital is committed.”
