Today, we learn how to spot safe websites before interacting with them online.

In today’s digital space, knowing how to spot a secure website is non-negotiable.

Here’s how you verify a website is secure:
✅ HTTPS — look for the “S” - Websites transmit data with two primary protocols. We have the insecure protocol, the regular Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), and the secure version with an S at the end, signifying a secure transmission protocol. Always look for websites with secure protocols, and check the domain to ensure it begins with https://www.examplewebsite.com.
✅ Padlock icon - This is a visual representation that a website is secure. Every secure website needs to have a green padlock branding issued by the SSL certificate provider. Always be on the look out for a padlcok icon on the URL bar of the website you are accessing.
✅ Real domain spelling - A website needs to have a domain that is readble at the very least and the website content aligns with the domain name. Avoid sharing personal and sensitive DATA on any web service simply because it was an outbound link or shortened URL.
✅ Trustworthy branding - This is the final check for any end user. Does the website align with the base branding. Always check to confirm that they align.

Insecure websites can expose sensitive data, inject malware, and compromise customer trust.

In summary,

Before you enter any sensitive info online (email, password, or card):

✅ Look for HTTPS (NOT just HTTP)
✅ Check the lock icon 🔒
✅ Inspect the domain — is it spelled correctly?

If any of these are missing… don’t risk it.

Every secure website starts with HTTPS, but the lock icon isn’t enough on its own.

1. Always double-check URLs
2. Only share data on sites with valid SSL certificates
3. Bookmark your trusted sites
4. Report suspicious pages

SMEs are now the #1 target for cyberattacks. This has been partly psychological because most SMEs think they are too small to hack. This creates the perfect hackers playground.

Most SMEs have;
🚫 Weak passwords
🚫 No backups
🚫 No antivirus/firewall
🚫 And they most likely use shared login credentials

As a small business owner, you are responsible for protecting yourself and your business in the vast digital realm.

Here are a few simple ways to protect your small business today;
✅ Enable 2FA on all your digital footprints
✅ Use password managers for your passwords
✅ Update software regularly, consult your IT expert, obviously!
✅ And most importantly, train your staff!

Don’t wait for a breach. Secure your business before it’s too late.

Cybersecurity is not just about firewalls, antivirus software, or IT teams—it starts with YOU. Employees are the first and last line of defense against cyber threats, and one wrong click can bring down an entire system.

🚨 Here’s the hard truth:

☝️90% of cyber breaches happen due to human error

✌️1 in 3 employees has clicked on a phishing link

👌Cyberattacks cost businesses $4.45 million on average per breach

🔍 Our mission today is to transform your team into a HUMAN FIREWALL—stronger than any software!

🔒 Now let's clarify one thing today: your Human Firewall Is Your Best Cyber Defense!

🚨 Here's the reality check: Hackers don’t break in—they log in. And they do it because of human mistakes.

💡 So let’s fix that! Here’s how to turn your team into a cybersecurity powerhouse:

🔹 1. Stay ALERT 🚨 – If an email looks odd, it probably is. Verify before clicking!
🔹 2. Use STRONG passwords 🔑 – “123456” won’t cut it! Mix uppercase, numbers & symbols, or use password generators for your pass keys.
🔹 3. Enable MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) 📲 – A second layer of security makes all the difference.
🔹 4. Don’t OVERSHARE online 📢 – Cybercriminals gather info from social media to hack accounts.
🔹 5. Report PHISHY activity 🐟 – Don’t ignore suspicious emails; report them immediately.

🛡️ Your security starts with YOU. Are you ready to be the human firewall?
